From the moment I turned it on, the sound just brought the atmosphere to life. It��s super easy to connect and start playing music, and I love how I don��t have to worry about it getting wet or dirty. It��s also surprisingly lightweight for how solid it feels, and I��ve found myself taking it everywhere without thinking twice. Out of the box (photo), the Monster S620 feels solid and compact. The rubberized texture and braided strap give it a rugged vibe. It��s clearly built with portability in mind. Waterproofing is rated IPX8, so it should survive rain or a splash by the pool, though I haven��t dunked it yet.

Initial pairing was smooth. But the Bluetooth voice prompt caught me off guard. It has the same overly enthusiastic voice, with a heavy accent, that reminds me of no-name budget speakers from ten years ago. Not a dealbreaker, but it doesn��t scream ��premium.��

Audio quality is what most will care about, and here it mostly delivers. You get punchy volume, some thump in the bass, and decent clarity at mid-volume. It claims 40W total output (30W bass plus 10W tweeter) and can pair with a second unit for 80W stereo. I didn��t test the pairing function, but solo, it fills a small room or campsite without much trouble.

Build quality seems good so far. Buttons have a nice click, and the ports are well-sealed. It also supports TF card playback, which could be handy if you want tunes without streaming.

It comes with an USB-C charging cable.

Still, Monster today is not quite the Monster of 15 years ago. The brand carries nostalgia, but this model feels more like a well-built generic speaker with a name badge on top. Not bad, just not iconic.

If anything changes such as audio distortion, pairing issues, or battery degradation, I��ll post a real-world update. For now, it��s a decent portable speaker that punches above typical no-name gear in this price point. It just doesn��t reclaim the old Monster legacy.

Update: I charged now a few times the speaker and never got more than 5250mAh charge into it. I guess it has a 6,000mAh battery with approx 85% efficiency.
Didn't it say it has up to 30h play time? Well, not for me. The longest play time for me was around 5-6h while running it at 40-50% volume (I am currently assembling a shed in the backyard).
Downgrade to 4/5 stars.

The sound quality is exceptional! Just turning it on surprised me with how good the quality was and the range of sounds. I placed it vertically on the ground, and I swear that it was making the floor vibrate a little on medium volume. Its volume is much more robust than any of my other speakers, comparable to the sound quality from my brand-name sound bar for my entertainment system, but much more portable.

It's also very portable too, about a little smaller than a tissue box. It is a bit heavy though, but standard for its size. I don't intend to bring it to any beach parties, but it being waterproof and dirt-proof is reassuring regardless. Pairing happened instantly, and it was able to play right away.

This speaker sadly doesn't have a compatible app for it to control on your phone. It also comes with a TF card slot for you to add media to play on it directly, but I don't think I'll be using that feature.

Extremely loud and clear when needed, this Monster S620 portable speaker packs a lot of power. I can honestly say the sound quality of this exceeds one of my brand name large soundbars.

40 watts rms, 60 watts peak driving two speakers and two passive radiators. High quality sound and when cranked there was zero distortion. Excellent balance of bass, mids and treble and there��s even an equalizer button if you choose.

There��s 3 ways to connect audio, either through bluetooth 5.4, a micro sd card, or through usb. And this Monster portable speaker has good weight to it, meaning a quality amplifier inside and long lasting battery.

This sounds just as good, if not better than my jbl flip portable speaker.

Pros:
Superb sound quality
Easy pairing and connectivity
Portable in size, but huge in sound

Cons:
The volume jumps in fair sized increments, but that doesn��t bother me in the slightest

If I encounter any issues in the future I��ll update my review.

This product was priced at $60 at the time of this review, and the sound quality exceeded what I expected for that price. Its default settings are tuned for relatively high volume, and I think it is ideal for outdoor or spacious environments. The speaker is about the same size as a 1-liter water bottle. While it is large for a portable speaker, still compact enough to carry around.
The speaker delivers impressively deep and punchy bass even with the standard equalizer setting, without any bass boost. I think the sound signature is the most suitable for vocal tracks. Instrumental music with acoustic instruments felt lacking clarity and richness. I felt the sound characteristics change noticeably with volume. I felt the most natural sound comes at around 50% volume, but this was quite loud for home use.
The speaker includes two built-in equalizer presets, but even with the bass-enhanced setting, the tone balance at low volumes did not feel comfortable to me. For better listening at lower volumes, I recommend adjusting the equalizer on the connected playback device.
