Directions

    The size, sound, and light quality are all great. There's just one thing I don't like, and I need help understanding it. Is it broken or supposed to work this way?
    It's impossible to turn on the light without white noise, and sometimes we just need the light without any sound.

    This is a review of Momcozy Portable Sound Machine with Night Light, White Noise Sound Machine for Baby, 20 Soothing Sounds, Sound Therapy, Long-Lasting Power, Timer, Clips on Stroller
    This nice little sound machine is very relaxing. I’ve tried out quite a few sound machines, so I’ll be discussing this in relation to features and failures of others that I’ve tried. This one has 20 noises, with many of them really nice and none weirdly synthetic. My favorites are the crickets and the rainforest. The Brahms lullaby is particularly nice, and the heartbeat sound is much better than heartbeat sounds on some other small sound machines I have tried. I like the nightlight option, which can be used even on its own without sound. It has a timer function (necessary for me) and a surprise good feature: dual voltage, so it can go on my European vacation with me.
    This machine has better buttons than do most small machines. Some machines try to get away with only 2 or maybe 3 buttons to do everything. This one has 6 buttons that to govern these functions: on/off/bluetooth; sound up/down; light on/off/brightness; timer/child-lock; and choice of sound (toggle through them or choose no sound). This machine successfully pairs with my phone so I can play other songs or stories through the speaker. Bluetooth is activated through the on/off button—just long press to initiate the pairing mode, then choose WN06 in the list on the phone. The volume up/down buttons on my phone can adjust the sound level when the sound machine is being used like a speaker for the phone.
    One major wonderfulness about this machine is what it does not have: ugly announcements. So many sound machines have a loud announcement when things happen (like “power on” or “highest pitch”). Rather than loud ugly announcements, the player relies on, for example, a dot of light to indicate the machine is on. For blue tooth pairing, there is a light unobtrusive tone. But no awful loud announcements that defeat the usual use for the device: relaxation and sleep.
    Is this perfect? No. I can always find a way to improve things. : ) But it comes close. The attractive, understated style means that the icons on the buttons are the same color as the buttons. The icons are raised so in most lights I can see them. But my eyesight is not great, so sometimes they are hard for me to read. It is true that with raised icons once you have them memorized you can then navigate by feeling the buttons. (Or, if needed, I can add a discreet mark to help me out.)
    Despite its small size, this does a lot. It is a bit pricier than some other similar-size models, but it doesn’t have loud announcements and it does have dual voltage.

The design is classy and blends in to any decor, and color works gender neutrally. The clip can slide into many different things. The buttons are pretty intuitive, I was able to figure out most of it without looking at the manual, which is a very good thing. There are a lot of functions, though, and by looking at the manual, I was able to figure out a little more, as in press the volume up button for two seconds to fast forward, etc. The speaker quality is good. It connected to my phone via Bluetooth And it can get so loud, as to sound like a party that you can hear from outside the car when I play it inside the car. Therefore it is important to lower the volume and keep it as far away from the person, especially a baby, with this pretty robust speaker. The white noises and lullabies are good too, soft and varied. My baby falls asleep very well to rain noises so we have that going in the car while trying not to fall asleep to it ourselves. One thing, I do have to click through all the sounds to get to it, which isn’t a big deal if you leave it on one most times. The light function is wonderful. It is amber colored soft light that can be controlled in a gradient function by holding down the light button. I use it for baby to fall asleep, but also as a speaker in the car when I wait for my older kid to finish his lesson while I sit in the car too. Awesome multi functional piece for baby/parenthood/and beyond.
