Glad I Ignored the Mixed Reviews - This Soil Meter Works Great! I was hesitant to purchase this moisture meter after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. Following the directions and tips provided seems to be key, and so far, it's reading my soil levels accurately. I tested it on three different plants with known moisture levels: a very dry indoor plant read "dry," a recently watered indoor plant read "moist," and an outdoor plant soaked by rain read "wet" – all exactly as expected. It's important to note, as the box clearly states, this is for soil and not for use in water or other liquids. Also, gently moving the probe near the roots until the meter responds is necessary.
