I’m quite happy with this origami making set, plenty of variety and pretty easy overall for a beginner or novice.

The instructions were pretty easy to follow, no issues and lots of fun while playing around with this kit. I like the pre drawn ones as they were a bit easier for me to learn, the plain paper is fun to see how creative I can be and it’s good quality for following videos online.

Overall a fun kit and no problems while using it, should last me a long time and I’m excited to learn more about origami at home.

This is marketed as for ages 3 plus (though now I see the listing has different, much older, ages listed, but the box is very clearly marked 3+), which is unrealistic. Even with help, a three year old is not likely able to make the precise folds needed for origami to work. I could see focused 5ish year olds being able to do this with some assistance reading the directions, especially the printed ones, since there are visual guidelines to those.

For older kids, I think the kit is a decent start, but was disappointed the instructions are only for the pre-printed designs. I expected a starter of pre-printed designs to get the concepts down, then for there to be more advanced designs for the plain paper.

I appreciate that there are two of each of the printed designs, either for sharing or for trial and error. Each is clearly labeled in a low-visibility area with the name and page number of the design, a really nice piece of designing. There is a great variety of solid colored paper, just like I said, I wish there were more advanced directions for some of it.

The instruction book is soft covered, but did seem to stay mostly open if the pages are bent all the way. It also includes a link to videos if that's more helpful than the written/2-d directions.

And if paper airplanes are your thing, there are a LOT to choose from here!

My kids have been going stir crazy inside with the summer heat so I ordered this kit to keep us all occupied. I was happy to find that each project includes two pieces of paper so two people can have fun at the same time.

Unfortunately, I had mixed feelings about this kit. While the variety of activities, adorable designs, and amount of included paper was outstanding, the directions left a little to be desired.

I have some experience with origami so I was able to figure out most of the "techniques" in the beginning of the booklet. However, I think a beginner would be totally lost and would not recommend this for children 3+ as stated on the package.

There are typos, unclear instructions on which side of the paper to start on, and confusing illustrations, leaving me scratching my head on some of the easiest projects.

The format relies on you learning the techniques at the beginning of the book so some steps are not explained at all. Be prepared to flip back and forth until you memorize them.

Overall, I'd still give this 4 stars due to the creativity and included materials.

While this set is more for younger kids, I got this to encourage my boyfriend's kids to put their phones down. We like to have them spend time doing creative things together and this origami set is great. The instruction book is easy to follow and the airplane and patterned papers are fun.

This set of origami paper also included a number of cool interesting illustrated projects where we could make nice designs with our kids. It is because it was unique in that it came with 85 paterns in the guidebook that we ordered this set over others.

The paper itself is decent quality, but I would say that the biggest disappointment was how to store it properly. Since it came in resealable clear bags, the ability to seal it up time after time was an issue. I wish they had thought of this rather than to cheapen the storage method using clear plastic bags.

Overall, I hesitate to recommend this set of origami paper although it was unique because the designs that we were able to build with the kids was rather wide in their variety. The quality of the paper was also decent. If I had to rate it, I would rate it a 7 out of 10. The one major issue that influenced my 4 star rating instead of a five star rating was how it was stored. We had issues getting it to store neatly because the paper kept getting stuck on the resealable plastic bag flaps. At this price, it is also quite good value for money. I'd say get it if you like the unique designs.
