- Reviewed in Canada on September 13, 2024Being a Mimi myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this story of traveling at Christmas time, with other families, to Mimi houses around the globe. My 3-1/2 year old grand adored looking at the varied locations, scenery and cultures highlighted by detailed and colorful illustrations. In sunshine or snow, riding horses or in a hot air balloon, To Mimi’s House We Go will delight its readers again and again with the magic of Christmas.
I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended for those with a Mimi in their life.
Verified Purchase“To Mimi’s House We Go” is exactly what it says on the cover—an exciting trip to Mimi’s house. If your kid is one of those who calls their grandmother “Mimi,” then this book is practically required reading. The story is straightforward, which is ideal for kids who don’t need any complicated plot twists before their bedtime. The illustrations are bright enough to keep little eyes interested, without looking like someone threw a bunch of crayons at the page. It’s a simple, no-nonsense book about a trip that’s bound to make kids feel like they’re already halfway to Mimi’s house—no complaints from me. Solid read, highly recommended for those with a Mimi in their life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Traditions keep our loved ones close
Verified PurchaseSeveral years ago when I was preparing for my 1st grandchild, my sweet daughter asked me what I wanted my grandchild to call me, I assumed grandma. But she explained nowadays with 2-4 sets of grandparents it’s nice to have your own special name that they will be able to say much sooner than grandma. I thought, how amazing my daughter was to love me and she suggested ‘Mimi’ since she was mommy. I went with it, how wonderful, 6 years later, 2 of my 3 precious granddaughters call me Mimi. This book was so perfect for them, in fact the whole family has made it a traditional Christmas time ritual to read the weeks before we celebrate.
