    I couldn't unscrew the anode rod from my hot water tank with a long torque wrench that I use for changing winter tires. The water tank just moved if I pulled hard on the torque wrench. After researching online, I'd learned the solution was an impact wrench and the ones from Milwaukee had the best reviews. Among the different models, the 2962 seems to have the right amount of force for what I need done. The unit is pricey (and all Milwaukee models are) but it works. I was able to unscrew and replace the anode rods for my family's and a friend's hot water tanks. The savings from not having to hire a plumber to replace the anode rods, and the savings from extending the life of the hot water tanks more than pay back the cost of this unit.

    This thing’s a beast for its size. The Milwaukee 2962-20 delivers serious torque (up to 1,000 ft-lbs for breakaway) without being bulky or heavy. It’s compact, super comfortable to hold, and works great for stuff like tire changes, suspension work, or general jobsite tasks.
