    I received my Surface Laptop 3 on December 4.
    I charged it for two hours before pressing the power button but, when I did so, the device did not start.
    I did a hard start (holding power button for an extended period) on the device and it powered on in Recovery Mode with the message "it looks like Windows didn't load correctly".
    After pressing "Restart" the device entered Setup mode and I completed the steps (I did not opt to switch to Windows 11) and the device was working as expected.

    However, the problem is that after I close the lid of the device, to put the device into "sleep mode" the power button does not power on the machine: I need to hard start it each time.
    If I shut the device down in Windows, it can be restarted with the power button but this does not work from "sleep mode".
    After searching online, I learned that this "Sleep of death" problem is a known issue for the Surface Laptop 3.
    I contacted the seller to arrange for the return of the device and received a prompt reply in the affirmative.
    The device is now on the way back to the seller and I am awaiting my refund.

    It's a pity: I own a Surface 2 and love it. Unfortunately, this Surface 3 did not work as it should.
