Saves a lot of money !

I had corrosion on one TIPM connector. Actually, it was "soldered" by corrosion. Current did go through for now but I would have had problems down the road. It was so corroded I broke pins, both male and female, when I insisted to pull it out. So, I needed a replacement corrector.

The specific connector is not availlable on �鶹�� and does not seem availlable anywhere else than dealer. Like 90$ (canadian) for one connector. But the only thing specific actually is the plastic housing...Pins inside are not specific but you need that housing for fit...

The connector contains two sizes of pins and wire....So, I cannot simply buy a pack of 1.5mm Dupont or Delphi pins.

So, using this kit, I salvaged the specific plastic housing and I rewired the connector. Car works fine.

34$ seems expensive for what it costed to make. But it is not expensive considering you can rewire several connectors sold 90$ each at dealers...

Eventually, I will get myself large packs of some of the size only. But I was on hurry and not sure which will do. This kit saved the day.

Il aurait été cependant utile que soit fourni une certaine documentation avec les connecteurs et les outils. I can’t get over how many different terminals it has as far as the terminal tools are concerned, I’ve already got a personally gotten actually here on �鶹�� a good while ago they were on sale. It was like a 70 something piece set in a little moulded soft case and they are what they are the fact that they’re included in this kit is excellent. I think it’s a big mistake not including even a website address for a breakdown of what each terminal tool is and what to use them for and how they’re functioning personally I don’t generally use these. I don’t even use the ones I had bought I spent . I don’t even use the ones I had bought. I’m an automotive service and repair technician by trade and I spent my career as an electrical technician as an electrical tech for a company that specialized in first response emergency services vehicles specifically ambulances so this type of thing kinda comes naturally at this point and truthfully, I spent many many hours five days a week with the most expensive tools for terminals and crimper, and soldering irons that you can imagine into this day. I still fall back to a couple of broken princess auto screwdrivers with the plastic candles that I filed down by hand and made in into terminal tools. It’s actually quite rare that I’ll reach for something else. What I would suggest is take your time. The included pin pushers are on the thinner side and they have fairly sharp edges. I would go around each and every one of them with a file or a Dremel with a sanding disc and just knock off the edge the whole way around all of them on the flat ones the round ones for the GM style pins are a different story, but I would also suggest go online and learn how these terminals seed into connecters and how they removed some of them you need to open from the back some of them, you need to go in from the back to depresses spring some of them you need to go from the front in a different spot it’s all kind of dependent and the other thing I suggest is if you’re pushing a pin once you un see the pin from the springs within the connecter or the latches I guess instead of pulling on the wire backwards, pull gently on the wire and use a small tool from the front and push, but make sure that that tool is going to sit across the entirety of it. You don’t wanna go in the pin itself and you don’t want it to be bigger than the terminal slot or the whole. I guess it’s gotta be able to fit there without enlarging anything but it’s gonna be large enough to not go in that way you don’t damage the pin. It’s a the type of thing that takes time and practice and finesse a good bit of it is based on feel but there’s nothing worse than trying to get a pin out of a connecter because you got you put it in the wrong spot and the crimp wasn’t great or the wire was broke a little further back and you didn’t know whether or whatever the case and all of a sudden the wires in your hand and the pin is still within the connecter and then it becomes those even more difficult and when you’re crimping these connecters or pins onto the wire, remember that when you see where it goes around the wire there’s a almost a step that goes larger. That is where it goes around the actual insulation of that wire you don’t want the entire terminal crimp around bear wire you want to grab on some of the stripped wire as well as some of the insulation and in cases where you’re putting two wires in one my biggest suggestion is try, twisting both wires together, potentially tinting them and then when it’s crimped run a little bit of solder along the edge it takes time once again and finesse and sometimes it won’t see in the connecter quite right so you’ve gotta go back and reflows said solder or file it back a little so that it doesn’t sit proud otherwise this is impressively complete kit and the only thing it really doesn’t have is a decent set of crimper and no matter what anybody says my personal opinion is that a connection is only as good as your joint your weakest point is going to be the Crimm for the order depending on what exactly it is that we’re dealing with that said I would strongly suggest for you to invest in a good ratcheting crimper and spend the time to learn what dies the different pins and wire gauges require because you can very very quickly and very, very easily go from trying to save some money in the DIY world, dealing with things yourself basically and suddenly ending up having to bring especially vehicles to a professional home to find out that it wasn’t something that you didn’t know was wrong. You had been on the right track the whole time, but your connections were bad or whatever the case rendered everything useless all in the attempt of saving money and costing more and generally speaking these pins are not really made for household AC type voltage this is DC 12 V 24 V type stuff you’re not gonna end up with a pool molten metal you’ll end up with powder if you put too much voltage in and risk of fire so be cautious. Know what you’re doing and don’t hesitate to ask there are YouTube videos and channels dedicated to this type of thing likely hundreds of Facebook pages and groups and that’s only two social media platforms that’s not including any information you can gain from the manufacturer directly as far as whatever you’re trying to service or install using these you’re trying to put in a new set of handlebars. Chances are you can probably find some really good information from the manufacturer of those pre-wired handlebars for example I guess I only mention these things because I’ve seen too much over the years, but excellent nonetheless just take the time to learn how to use the tools provided the terminal tools and spend a little extra and bye yourself a set of ratcheting crimp pliers with the quick change or easy change dies, cause the ones that come with a multimeter and a pair of needle nose, pliers that are manual and they can strip wire and do everything else are pretty much only any good if you’re stuck on the side of the road in the case of an emergency and you need to fix something to get back on the road, and even then they leave a lot to be desired unless you’re using butt connecters and once again, we get back to the if it’s to get you home after a breakdown sure but anything other than that you’re doing yourself a great disservice but as far as these connecter terminals go, they definitely do the thing they come in an excellent little separated case to keep them organized there’s a vast selection to cover basically anything you’re gonna need and if you need anything, that’s not in this chances are it’s specialized enough that you don’t need a selection of them. You’re going to probably want extras of that specific type and you’re gonna probably know what you’re doing beyond what this would be aimed at all in all it does the thing and it does it quite well I’m impressed.

All of the pins fit together tightly and make a good electrical connection and are accurately sized. The pins feel typical and are easy to crimp using a standard pair of wire crimpers. I also like that this set includes various different seals which are nice for preventing moisture ingress and all of the seals are quite pliable.

Using the terminal release tools are definitely helpful and they work well although they're essentially made of thin gauge stamped steel. I also find that the cylindrical ones can fall apart fairly easily. For example, when I pulled the release tool out of my connector, the ring fell off of the cylinder as it's only held on with small teeth that bite into the colored plastic. Overall this is a decent terminal pin kit with a good assortment of sizes and the case is helpful for keeping everything organized.

This is a good kit of automotive connector terminals. These terminals are often hard to find, so it's great to have a kit like this on hand.

It includes various terminals, all arranged in pairs with the male and female counterparts. It also includes weather packs. They are arranged in a nice plastic case with many closing clips, which prevents the case from closing improperly and mixing the terminals.

I'm removing a star because the included removal tools for the blade connectors have sharp edges. The manufacturer should ensure to deburr their edges.

This is not just for automotive applications; I'm using these for an LED strip application for outdoor steps. See the video for more details, but overall, this is exactly what I was hoping for. It has a nice mix of sizes, the quality of the terminals seems good, and one of the pins made it easier to use some existing JST connectors.

The parts sheet doesn't tell you the AWG each terminal is designed for, but it does give the specs (in mm) for each of the sizes, and you can make a note if that is helpful. I also like how the lid has four latches (two front and two sides) to hold the lid closed and keep the terminals from moving around to different compartments, making getting the right size quickly that much harder.
