My little one had been showing so much interest in keys and locks in the last few days. Putting pencils in the little holes in our cupboards and trying my keys on the baby gate latch and in the door knobs in the house. I knew I had to find her something that would stimulate her craving to lock and unlock things. Originally, I was searching amazon for those plastic key and locks that were around in the nineties but I wasn't finding anything even remotely similar. So I searched in google "lock box toys for toddlers," and eventually I found this lock house. I knew it would be perfect for her. I didn't hesitate to order it right away and get the next day delivery. I waited "oh so patiently" for the house to arrive and when it did, we were both so excited to open the box. As soon as she pulled out the packaging paper and saw the house her eyes lit up. She eagerly pulled it out and got straight to work. She hadn't stopped playing with the house from the time she opened it until it was bedtime. I even let her stay up a bit late because she didn't want to stop. I am so happy with this purchase.
Great for her brain, great for her motor skills and it will be great as she gets older too. The numbers on the keys and doors will make sense as she learns to read.
Two minor things I'll complain about, (but not really,)
-it would be nice if the first set of batteries were included. I didn't read into the details of the house so I didn't realize that I would need to buy some. She hasn't even heard the doorbells yet! (Which might be a good thing actually, it keeps her busy and it's a quiet activity.)
-the locks easily scratch up and the paper glued to the house have already lifted at the corner of one of the doors. Easy fix I know, but maybe perhaps for future making you could use a stronger glue.
Thanks for the awesome lock house. This is the greatest thing I've ever bought for her.
