My kids (2 and 3) love these books and I love that this one has them practicing their letters. The pen doesn’t leak and holds the water well but I find it helpful to run the paintbrush part under some water so it’s already presoaked.
The pages will scratch if you use the paintbrush a bit too aggressively (or when you run other toys or nails over it)… so just don’t do that.
If you trust your kids enough you could refill the paintbrush and use it in the car if you are looking for car activities.
