The term polish can mean different things to different people. So, what is a polish?
Polishing, or glazing, is an optional step that provides additional nutrients and oils for maximum depth of shine and reflectivity. There are cleaner polishes that lightly clean to remove below surface defects and add gloss. However, if it’s a pure polish or glaze it doesn’t contain any cleaners or abrasives, nor does it contain wax protection. A pure polish is really designed as a gloss enhancer to be used between compounding and applying wax protection.
ѱܾ’s M07 Show Car Glaze is a professional polish formulated to produce incredibly glossy paint and depth of shine before applying a wax or sealant. It’s most effective on darker colors, dramatically enhancing reflections and depth of color on all glossy paints and clear coats. Designed to be both safe and effective by hand, dual action polisher or rotary buffer to obtain that deep, rich “wet look”. Wash & evaluate the paint
- Before applying a polish, wash and dry the paint to remove loose dirt and debris. Always use a quality pH balanced car wash soap, like Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner G7101FFP as this will gently clean while preserving your wax protection.
- Next, run your clean, dry fingertips over the paint. If the paint feels rough to the touch this indicates that you have bonded contaminants on top of your paint. These are things like tree sap mist, industrial fallout, road tar, and paint overspray. ѱܾ’s Hybrid Ceramic Quik Clay Kit G200200 and Smooth Surface XL Clay Kit G10240 are kits that come with everything you need to safely remove bonded contaminants and leave paint as smooth as glass.
- Finally, evaluate the paint for below surface defects. If you have light to moderate swirls, scratches, oxidation, water spots, or etchings you would want to use a product like ѱܾ’s Ultimate Compound G17220 before applying a polish and a wax.
Tips for applying M07 Show Car Glaze
- Shake product well.
- For best results, apply in the shade to a cool, clean surface.
- Dispense a small amount of polish to a ѱܾ’s Soft Foam Applicator (by hand), a foam polishing disc (by da polisher), or a foam polishing pad (by rotary).
- Work thin and evenly to a 1-2 square foot area using light pressure and overlapping strokes to ensure adequate coverage.
- Wipe residue off immediately, before it dries with a premium microfiber towel like ѱܾ’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel.
- Work in sections over the vehicle.
- If the polish is drying quickly or if working in a humid environment, work in smaller sections and remove residue quicker.
- Apply long-lasting protection after with a product like ѱܾ’s M26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax, ѱܾ’s M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 or ѱܾ’s M27 Pro Hybrid Ceramic Sealant.
- Do not apply to vinyl or rubber surfaces.
- If you happen to need a polish with light cleaners in it, consider ѱܾ’s M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish.
