    This item doesn't fit the bathtub. The tub is enclosed with a ceramic tile. This item came with the box (product box) dented, torn and it had definitely been opened. The box and product looked as though it had been used. It was scratched and had wear marks on it. There was no protection in the product box to keep it stable or protected. I was sent a very used and very worn product.

    I was sent someone else's garbage and now it can't be returned. I'd like for that decision to be reviewed based on the fact that what I received was far fron a new product.

    I had no luck with a suction cup tension bar because my bathroom wall has small tiles. Although this Medline grab bar seemed pricey, it was worth it! Measure the width of your tub to make sure it is compatible, as it only expands up to a certain width. Once it's on, it's quite sturdy. It's useful for easing oneself in and out of the bath tub or to assist with lifting oneself out although it does warn it's not designed to support full body weight. It is made in China, but the quality seems good. I don't know whether it will rust over time, though. Incidentally, a physical therapist friend recommended getting a grab bar for elderly parents right around when I bought this unit! Save your parents from a life-altering hip fracture!
