Our MaxxHaul aluminum ramp top kit has a width of 8" for each ramp and maximum capacity of 1400 lbs (700 lbs each). This top kit features duty aluminum construction for durability. Each ramp is designed to turn 2" x 8" boards intol all-purpose ramps. Includes protective pads that will help prevent scratching your tailgate. Non-skid top surface is designed to prevent slipping and increase traction.

    Just arrived today / all parts listed were included and so I put it together today. 3' tailgate to ground when open so you should use 2x8x12' board. height of tail gate to ground (3') X 4 = length of ramp in feet. Gives you 15o slope.

    Once the ramp is attached to the board, there is about a 1/2" gap on the top side. The instructions say that is correct. However, I didn't think the gap should be there so just cut the end of the board by 1/2'' one side/nothing on the other so the end is now slanted. When bolted to the board, there is no gap.

    Only issue is the bolt that is used although square below the top, turns when the nut is attached. They say to hammer the top down so the square bites into the wood to prevent the bolt from turning when tightened. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. The bolt will turn.

    Use a pair of vice grips to hold one side (the top) when turning the nut with a socket wrench (the bottom). Eventually the nut will pull the bolt tight to the board.

    Haven't had a chance to use it yet but looks sturdy enough for my purposes

    Easy to install on a 2x 8 board. Board was fairly cheap at the lumber store (only built one ramp for a light motorcycle). With price of ramp kit it all priced well below other pre-made ramps. Granted you’re stuck with a 4 or 5 foot ramp in your trailer but you can figure out how to hang it on the side of the trailer. Easy to replace the board if it even breaks. Metal parts of the kit are high quality. Good hardware too. Great alternative to an expensive pre-made ramp if you’re not picky about form and just want function.
