5.0 out of 5 stars 🌟 Barbie Elphaba from Wicked – A Magical Must-Have! 🌟
Verified PurchaseAs a longtime fan of Wicked and all things Barbie, this Elphaba doll is a dream come true! Mattel absolutely nailed the details — from her iconic black hat and flowing cloak to her emerald green skin tone, she looks like she stepped right off the Broadway stage.
The quality is excellent — her outfit is beautifully stitched with layers of texture and shimmer that bring her witchy elegance to life. Her face is expressive, and the sculpt captures her fierce and thoughtful personality perfectly. The broom accessory and spellbook are nice touches, and she stands well on her own with the included display base.
Whether you're a collector or a Wicked fan, this Barbie is a showstopper. Perfect for display or storytelling play. A true tribute to the misunderstood witch we all secretly cheer for!

5.0 out of 5 stars Elphie!!!
Verified PurchaseThis Elphaba doll is just beautiful. Exactly as described if not better. If you loved the movie, just the actress or collect special Barbies, grab one before they are all gone or the price goes up. I can't wait for part 2 and the next Elphaba doll.

4.0 out of 5 stars The only let-down is the dress...
Doll Body
The body is the same as the Wicked doll that has the white/red dress, so they can trade clothes. The body has joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. The hands come off to get the arms through sleeves more easily. The joints work well. I dressed the doll in lots of different outfits with no problems bending the joints to fit into the clothes.
Hair
The hair is the main reason I was interested in this doll. (I've never seen the Wicked TV show. I'm a doll collector, and this is my 728th doll.) In person, the hair is as nice as in the pictures. There is none of that nasty gel gunk that Mattel slathers all over most of its dolls. Her head does really well with hats. I can't get the Carmen Sandiego doll to wear her own hat, but the Wicked witch can wear Carmen's hat perfectly! Other dolls' hats fit her better than their original dolls, too. I supposed it might be her hair that makes her head work with hats, since other dolls have fluffy hair?
Book
I've spent some time trying to figure out the book accessory. I thought it must be something from the TV show, so I did some Googling. The pictures of the Wicked book don't look anything like this toy. I guess people who watch the TV show can figure it out.
Stand
I like this leg-style stand better than the waist-clip type of stand or the saddle type. The leg-style stand holds the doll steady better than a saddle stand, and the leg-style stand can go under a dress so the look isn't ruined by a waist clip. However, for my photos the doll could stand well enough on its own, leaning against the backdrop, so I didn't need to use the stand on my photos. I included the stand in some of my photos just so people could see the stand.
Clothes
I was disappointed that the outfit is all one piece. Considering the "deluxe" label and the high price, I expected a separate dress beneath the coat. Unfortunately, the dress is just a flap of fabric over the inside-front of the coat. The cape is also attached to the coat.
Clothes Swaps
This is the most fun part of reviewing dolls! Since review photos are limited, I chose some of my most recent dolls to swap, instead of doing swaps with all of the dolls that would fit. There are a lot more dolls that could clothes-swap with the witch doll, but I've included only dolls that are recent and/or popular, so people can recognize the clothes sizes and have an idea of the size of the witch doll and which clothes it can wear. I've mostly included only outfits that have a perfect or near-perfect fit. One thing to note is that most of the '80s Barbie shirts are very loose on the witch doll. Also, the curvy Barbie clothes are far too big, except for the yoga outfit I used in my photo. None of my Rainbow High shirts fit the witch doll, but the tall Rainbow High shirt and the Rainbow High Junior shirt do fit, so it's possible that some of the regular Rainbow High shirts may fit, but I just don't have any of the ones that fit. Also, I did not try the witch outfit on any dolls for this review, so be aware that just because another doll's clothes fit the witch doll doesn't necessarily mean the witch dress will fit that doll. (There just isn't enough photo space to do that many photos.)
I've included shoes in the photos when the feet would fit. Carmen Sandiego's shoes are tight, but they do fit. Jem's shoes are loose and the tippy-toe angle is wrong, but the witch doll can be posed so that it looks okay. In addition to the photographed shoe swaps, the witch doll fits pretty much perfectly into the shoes from Magic Mixies Skylar (the tall doll, not the little dolls).
Overall, it's a nice doll, even for a doll collector who hasn't seen the Wicked TV show. The doll is well-made, has non-gelled hair, and can clothes-swap with a lot of other dolls.
