Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025Verified Purchasetres beau grafiquement et gameplay tres divertissant,j aime beaucoup
- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025Makes no sense how this costs more than Gran Turismo, Forza and Need For Speed (if you get those games on sale you can get them combined for cheaper). Like how? Since when is a children's game with less content worth more than the big league? Nintendo is officially on crack... I got the invite to buy the switch 2 and im saying hell no! Never investing in this company ever again. I'll enjoy my switch and 3DS instead.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025While I have enjoyed my time with Mario Kart World so far, my overall impression is that this is just another basic Mario Kart game with some additional features, none of which really justify the absolutely MASSIVE cost for this game.
A few critical observations:
- Challenge Level: The AI is incredibly unbalanced in this version of Mario Kart. This has always been a bit of an issue with Mario Kart games, but it is particularly frustrating here. Basically, if you are an advanced player, the AI scales up the difficulty to challenge you, and vice versa if you are a newer player. This sounds all well and good, but the computer players literally become faster than their base stats should even allow for, just to challenge you. This makes them virtually impossible to catch up to after losing your rank. The game also seems to punish players for using the new mechanics (wall riding, grinding). The game sees the use of these techniques as "advanced", and scales up the difficulty accordingly. This means that its actually easier to get a gold cup with three stars by driving like a novice, something I ended up doing myself rather than actually trying my hardest and using all of the new features to their fullest extent.
- Grand Prix Mode: Instead of 3 laps around the same track, the first two laps are made up of "intermission" stretches that take you from one track to the next. This is an interesting twist, but these segments are all very straight, very wide, and not all that interesting. You then only get to complete a single lap once you arrive at the actual course. The action really heats up once you get to the course, but the long intermission stretches are quite boring. Add to this the impossible challenge of catching up to the computer players, and you have a bit of an annoying experience all around.
- Free Roam Mode: the open world is huge and fun to explore, but it loses its novelty really fast. There are collectibles and challenges throughout, but there is no tracking system to know what you have and haven't found, so it feels a bit aimless
Don't get me wrong, Mario Kart World is beautiful, vibrant, and fun. The art direction, the character animations, and the physics system are beautiful and the new tech inside the NS2 really brings this game to life. But in the end, the frustrating challenge level, the changes made to Grand Prix mode, and the rather empty and disorganized Free Roam mode create a serious lack of value here for the price.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 12, 2025This game is a really fun time and a bold new direction for the Mario kart franchise to go in, the free roaming of the open world can feel empty at times but with 400 missions there is plenty of things to do in it. The 3 lap racing is probably the best in the entire series but the intermission tracks are not very fun, luckily it is possible to avoid these almost entirely if you play versus mode. Now the price of this game is a lot and you can get the bundle to make the game technically only cost 70 dollars and the game is 100% worth 70 however the bundle won’t be around forever so for 110 CAD I’d still say the game is worth it but only if you are an avid Mario kart enjoyer and plan to play the game online for lots of hours, otherwise it might be better to skip this or wait for a sale if that ever even happens
- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025Sorry guys but this game absolutely kicks ass. The best Mario Kart game bar none. Most characters, most unique stages, the gameplay controls very tight and is the most mechanically complex Mario Kart game. Oh yeah, and 200 songs from the Mario franchise and incredible presentation at rock solid 4k 60fps docked, 1080p portably. Mario Kart World is going to be one of the biggest selling games of all-time.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 9, 2025Nintendo price gouging is out of control. Price gouging in general is insane right now. let's all stop buying these products until these corporations stop being so greedy. It's not even a good game lol
- Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2025Good game but the novelty will wear off as any other game. There is nothing that justifies this price.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 10, 2025I didn’t think they could do any better after Mario Kart 8 but I was wrong. I cannot put this game down. I’m having a great time both alone and with friends. I can easily see myself sinking hundreds of hours in this game just like the previous one.
The price of the game alone is a bit much, but with the bundle it’s much more affordable.
