Was watching a YouTube video when I saw a guy who had a pair of these. Got me curious. Took a while to.find them, but very happy I did. Worked amazingly well shaping asphalt shingles around pipes and vents. Would encourage you to try these if you find cutting around protruding obstacles difficult. Can't wait to try them on vinyl siding as well. Blades appear to be holding up so far, but I bought a spare set of blades just in case.

My previous M14 is still working fine on the first set of blades after 23 years. I bought this tool as a backup to keep at my parents' house, and I was pleased to see that it is just as well made as ever. In fact, it offers two upgrades over the old snips: what appear to be powder coated instead of painted handles and a sexy little logo insert near the pivot bolt.

Another reviewer mentioned that the 14" snips are almost too much tool since someone without giant hands cannot open the handles far enough to make a full cut. I find them just right. In the first place, one can use the extra holes in front of the handle loops to place the fingers closer to the pivot and easily open the handles fully. In the second place, the point of the longer 14" handles is not just more leverage but rather a hand position farther behind the cut so that the two halves of the material flow around the snips more smoothly.

Thanks, Malco, for not dumbing down a great tool.
