DUN461Z's motor delivers up to 3,600 SPM for faster cutting. Ten angle settings provide efficient trimming of overhead and low-lying hedges. The telescoping shaft easily adjusts the length from 6 to 8-feet to access hard-to-reach hedges. The 18-1/8” dual-action double-sided shear blade makes cutting a breeze. Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) is a protective seal inside the tool that improves a tool’s operation in harsh conditions by channelling water and dust from key internal components.

Very good tool but a little heavy
I like makita products. It dies very well the job, efficient and low decibels. Pivotant head didn’t get 90degree. At the end of my 100 feet hedge my arms were very tired because tool is heavy. Durability should be good and material are excellent. There are not indication on the tool neither user manual, neither the box that it is BL brushless motor. I saw the same tool with another model number on makita USA web and it is not brushless.

    I've started using this for trimming weeds in the ditch since it doesn't spray weed juice like a whipper-snipper does. We have poison parsnip in my area which causes severe burns if the juice touches skin.
    The battery lasts a very long time, but the motor will stall out if you try to cut too much in one go.
    Also works great on the hedge. No ladder needed.
