I received the DFN350Z brad nailer but the product description/picture on 鶹 and on the box does not match the actual product itself. The magazine is way smaller (refer to pic for a side by side) and the 1 3/8” brad nails do not fit in the magazine. It actually looks like Makita’s pin nailer, although I don’t have pin nails to test this theory. I try different size brad nails with no luck. The model number on the nailer matches the box and 鶹 description, which is odd to me. Something doesn’t add up. So I’m returning the product and will look for a brad nailer elsewhere.

    Have had it for a bit. When compared to my Milwakee version,

    The Makita is Much smaller, and allowed me to fit into cabinets the Millwakee could not fit into and drive a nail at the right angle.

    However it sounds like you are crushing a spring factory every time it fires, the milwakee feels super satisfying. However, that and the fact it fires longer brads are the only things better in the milwakee

    Makita is small, powerful and light. Just sounds like a mechanical nightmare.

    I would not recommend this to anyone because of many reasons:
    1- Less powerful (doesn't work well on hard woods)
    2- Limited on the size of nails (Milwaukee gives you 5/8'' to over 2'')
    3- Depth gauge is not great... It plunges well in 1 spot but not at all in others
    4- Jammed nail can be taken out but not as easily as other brands

    If you are thinking of buying this because you have Makita tools/batteries, I would say get a different brand and get a battery adapter... You can get adapter on amazon.

    Night and Day difference between this and other brands!

    I am comparing this against Milwaukee 18 Gauge

    I purchased the MAKITA DFN350Z 18V nailer expecting a reliable and efficient tool for my woodworking projects, but it has been nothing short of frustrating.

    The biggest issue is that the nailer constantly jams. Even when using the correct 18GA nails and following the instructions, I frequently have to stop work to clear nail jams, which slows down progress significantly. It’s especially annoying during longer jobs when you rely on consistent performance.

    The tool itself feels well-made and comfortable to hold, and the battery life is decent. However, the frequent jamming overshadows these positives and makes it difficult to trust the nailer for any serious work.

    Additionally, the nail loading mechanism feels a bit fiddly and can be awkward to use, especially if you’re in a hurry or wearing gloves.

    Overall, I expected much better from a MAKITA product. For the price, this nailer should be smoother and more reliable. If you’re considering this model, be prepared for constant maintenance and interruptions.
