    We are still working our way through the eight seasons, this is a huge boxed set. I originally purchased for my mother-in-law because she is a huge Tom Selleck fan but we decided to watch them all first. We are thoroughly enjoying the series and since it has been over 30 years since it premiered on tv, it is like watching them all new again. What a great show. Despite the crimes and murders that he investigates, Magnum portrays a caring individual with admirable morals.

    Tom Selleck a model turned Actor who proved that a model aka. "Marlboro Man" had the talent to become an Actor. A dramatic actor as well as a comedic one at that. During filming of Magnum P.I. he often like to turn and talk the camera like he was talking to everyone watching the show. Magnum P.I. was dramatic, adventurous and very funny at times. Tom had a great group of supporting cast members which added to the dramatic adventures as well as supplying lots of wonderful laughter when working with Higgins or "Major Domo" at Robins Nest the Estate he lived at for free while providing free security services to the estate owner Robin Masters who was never seen in the entire series run. But Magnum and his fellow Vietnam war buddies Rick and T.C. were always off having great and sometime dangerous adventures. While, Magnum was always asking his war torn friends for favours every week. Magnum is sure to become one of your favorite classic TV series from the 80's.

    I bought this box set so I could relive the 80's and I am not disappointed. Thomas Magnum, Higgins, Rick, T.C., Apollo and Zeus are even better than I remember them because I was just a kid back in the 80's, I can appreciate these fine actors and the fun writing and directing more now and the women, oh the women Stewardess guesst at Robin Masters estate, ladies in distress etc.. The scenes with T.C.'s helicopter are very impressive and actually dangerous In sadly in 1980, cameraman Robert Van Der Kar was killed while filming a season 1 episode when the low-flying helicopter he was riding in crashed into the Pacific Ocean off of Hawaii. Tom Selleck is one of the coolest guys that ever graced the small screen, I highly recommend this box set if you are an 80's tv buff or a fan of Tom Selleck and John Hillerman.
