I saw this game on social media and had to have it. It's a very simple concept, but very fun and addictive. Make a large circle with the string if playing 2 players, or shrink the circle down when playing with 3 or 4 people. We played for over an hour the first time we tried it.

I saw this on a bunch of Tic Toc videos... super easy and fun to play. Comes with a bag filled with super strong, polished magnet stones, string to set the play area, and instructions.

Super easy concept to play... set up the ring on a SMOOTH AND FLAT surface, divide out the magnets, place one at a time taking turns, if they stick together that person picks up those magnets to play again. First with them all placed wins.

It REALLY does require some serious thought and strategy... we started playing in SECONDS and before we knew it, spent an hour at the dinner table eating lunch and playing Magnetic Chess. The way the magnets can quickly start snapping together adds to the excitement and can make you jump, scream, and cheer. What a simple concept that actually builds in real strategy... so much fun.

Only downside for me is the instructions. Sure, the game is easy enough to setup and if you saw the tic toc video you would be good to go, but the extremely poor English and grammar on the instructions quickly make it feel like a cheap knockoff game.

Pros
- All fits in a portable pouch
- Magnets are SUPER strong and polished, just fun to fiddle with on their own
- Easy to pick up, hard to master, great for ALL ages up to 4 players (or even 1 player, yes, it can be played solo)
- Addictive

Cons...
- Need a smooth, flat, surface to play
- Instructions are painfully written

Great addition to any game room and a game that REALLY bridges the age gaps... a 10 year old can easily win over a chess champion any day. When instructions are garbage though, I have to knock off a star... especially when the game is this easy and the instructions are still this sloppy.

"There's a lot of uncertaininy in this game" is how the game instructions begin. And I agree. First, the game setup instructs you to "Place the sponge and Nestle on the table". As romantic as that sounds, it wasn't enough to get my girlfriend to want to play... alas, there's no sponge with this game. So, umm, what?

But wait... there is a sponge. Ok, well not in this game... in another game named Magnetic... not to be confused with yet another game called Magnetism. Which as it turns out, is what this game might actually be. Or wait it... is it both? These games all have almost identical packaging with different pictures.

Flip the instruction sheet over, and now it has different instructions... "Lay the game rope flat on the table or level". Ok, now we're getting somehwere it does come with a rope... or rather a piece of yellow string.

Poor english and what game is this wonderments aside... the game concept is simple... Make a loop with the string. Divide the magnet pieces evenly among all players. Take turns putting a magnet in the loop. If any magnets touch... pick them up and put them back in your pile. First person to place all their magnets wins.

The string is too long I think, making it too easy... but it's string so you can size it smaller easily to make the game more difficult. Do that.

I think this would be fun for kids... or at least an educational experience on magnetism. How is that a magnet can both repel and attract? AI says "Children typically begin to understand basic concepts about magnets around the age of 3 to 5 years old.". Though don't let them read the instructions, we don't want them to get the wrong impression with this line "If a player places a piece and two or more more pieces are sucked...". Hmm.. I hope that doesn't get my review blocked. Those are not my words.

The sponge the game refers to looks from photos I found elsewhere to be a packing foam called convoluted polyurethane... or egg crate foam. I have a piece of this, so I'll give that method a try too.

3 stars, cuz well, even if it's not an exciting game... the magnets are very nice. Soft. High quality. The string is too, well as far as string goes.

Pros-
- Good entertainment value for families with grade-school kids
- Game is not very expensive
- Compact, easy storage
Cons-
- the storage bag is cheap and will have to be replaced early
- some of the magnetic pebbles had a bit of rust - easily removed with a dry cloth
- the instruction sheet has a poor English translation, and to add to the confusion, the other side of the sheet had instructions for a similar game involving a grooved sponge.

Conclusion-
- Overall, this is a nice, compact family game that kids will really enjoy. You tie a cord and lay it in a circle then take turns placing your magnetic stone in the circle. If your stone 'grabs' another, you have to pick it up and the ones attached to it. The winner is the one who gets rid of all their stones first.
The cord circle was a little too big during the first game, so we tied it into a smaller circle, forcing the magnets to be closer to each other (and more action).
