- Reviewed in Canada on March 21, 2025Verified PurchaseI ordered this to replace the plastic sensor that came with my Wi-Fi garage door module, and it’s a huge improvement. The rounded plate allows the door to slide off in case of accidental contact, preventing damage, and the stronger magnet provides a much larger detection range. This let me mount it higher on the door, avoiding unnecessary contact while still accurately sensing the door's status.
Installation was quick and simple—just two wires to connect, making it highly versatile and compatible with many systems. No drilling required, and the only tools needed were a screwdriver (or impact driver) and wire cutters to strip and trim the wires. I used heat shrink for a secure connection, but electrical tape or wire nuts would also work.
So far, I haven’t had any false readings, and the larger magnetic field makes it much more reliable than the original sensor. It also feels far more durable than the cheap plastic ones I’ve used before. While those were about half the price, I’ve already gone through two of them due to breakage—this one seems built to last. Definitely worth the investment, and I wish I had bought it in the first place!

Michael W.Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 20245.0 out of 5 stars More clarity is needed of NC vs NO when magnet is near contacts
Verified PurchaseI used this product to replace an older set of alarmed garage door magnetic contacts that were of much lesser quality and had failed...I was concerned about the strength of any replacements until I found this product online. I must say, I am very pleased with its quality, ease of installation and performance. I highly recommend it. It can be purchased in a NC (normally closed by the magnet) or NO (normally open by the magnet) depending on customer need.
S. SeegerReviewed in the United States on December 22, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Work perfectly w/ home automation system
Verified PurchaseBought these, as opposed to cheaper, smaller, plastic ones, as they had good reviews, appeared to be fairly heavy-duty, and yet were basic switches I needed for my dry-contact firmware for a home automation device (RATGDO for anyone counting).
They are significantly larger than the small plastic ones, but since I've had them installed (maybe ~ a year now) they are rock-solid and just plain work. Love the wrapped metal cabling at the end, which makes me feel they are more durable (and they probably are), and I mounted them with 3M double-sided tape, to the aluminum rail and framing of my garage door.

GooddaymateReviewed in the United States on February 23, 20265.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed to move alarm magnet after garage door bottom seal replacement
Verified PurchaseThe alarm contact for my 16' garage door is mounted to the floor of my garage. I replaced the bottom garage door seal and because of the wider seal, I had to remove my alarm system magnet bracket from the bottom of my garage door. The magnet had to be relocated to the bottom side of the garage door. The included adjustable bracket and magnet allowed me easily reposition the magnet over my current magnetic alarm system contact. It was an easy fix.
