- Reviewed in Canada on December 20, 2024I’ve been using the MagicLine Studio Equipment Trolley Case for a little while now, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a game-changer for transporting all my gear. As a mom of three, managing camera equipment along with all the kid-related gear can be tricky, so I really appreciate how spacious and sturdy this bag is. It fits everything, from tripods to light stands, and has plenty of room left for other larger items, which is amazing. The wheels are smooth and make it easy to roll around, even in tighter spaces. Plus, it’s durable – the materials feel high quality, and the dividers are helpful for keeping everything secure and organized.
One thing I love is that even when I pack it full, it holds up well, and the 88 lb weight capacity gives me peace of mind. The bag is a bit heavy on its own, but the handle and wheels make it manageable. I’ve also noticed that it’s perfect for more than just camera gear – it could definitely work for musical equipment or other bulky gear. The only downside I’d say is that it’s a bit large, so it might take up a lot of space when not in use, but it’s worth it for the convenience. Overall, highly recommend if you need a reliable, spacious bag for your equipment.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 26, 2024This tote is quite large, but it does have wheels and a handle to make it easier to move around. The tote comes with separators that have Velcro on each end allowing you to place them in the case where you need them. I would have liked to see the case come with more of these partitions, but there are enough for you to create 5 partitions. There is an interior flap that comes down to cover the bottom portion of the case. There are also interior straps that help secure your equipment in place. The top of the bag has a zippered compartment with ample space for cables and other equipment that is not too thick. The long portion of the case is great for storing tripods or other long items such as light stands. The size of the compartments lends it to being best for larger pieces of equipment such as lighting units or larger video cameras. The zippers are big and strong and made to hold the two sides together securely. The wheels roll nicely and the bag is relatively easy to move around. For those that need to move larger pieces of video or camera equipment around or even for those who do audio or other presentation gigs, this tote will serve them well and one I would recommend.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 4, 2024The MAGICLINE brand studio equipment trolley case with wheels is an extra heavy duty travel case specifically designed for the storage and conveyance of photography equipment, but also suitable for many other carriage purposes. Although tempting, this case is not recommended for use as aviation luggage as both the 39 inch length and total size dimensions (67 inches) of the bag exceed the rule of 62 inches followed by the majority of the world’s airlines.
Strength in this case also means considerable heft, and this bag weighs in at approximately 15 pounds empty. This is the type of case used by full-time professionals who make their living from the high-value stored and transported equipment carried within.
The key specs for this case all speak to the overall mission of storing and transporting high-value contents. All of the seams are reinforced and the materials chosen are carefully selected for their wear and tear capabilities.
The exterior is clad in water resistant 1680D nylon material mounted on ABS plastic walls and reinforced corners. Why is this important? The 1680D designation is a unit for measuring the weight and thickness of the fabric used for the cover. Fabrics with higher Denier will be thicker, stronger and more durable than fabrics with lower Deniers.
1680D nylon cloth has a certain waterproof function, soft feel and is very durable. Many internationally famous handbags and luggage use this Oxford cloth as the main material. 1680D nylon cloth has good structural formation resistance, moisture removal and air permeability and strong resistance to acid, alkali and ultraviolet rays.
The 1680D fabric is a good top of the line product properly suited for the intended use of this device. For example, patio umbrellas are often made with lighter duty 210 D polyester. Conversely, heavier duty applications exposed to constant wear and sharp object interactions such as a firewood rack cover are often made with heavy duty 600 D Oxford cloth. The cloth used in the present object under review is more than three times thicker than this.
Ease-of-use is also an important design feature consideration. Adjustable lid straps keep the bag open while packing and unpacking. A pair of heavy-duty rollers allow the bag to be easily transported, even when fully loaded to the 88 pound weight limit.
The interior has 3 large padded divider separated horizontal compartments, and 1 full-length vertical compartment. The layout can be easily adjusted using the zippered pockets found on the interior.
Although this case is specifically targeted toward the storage and conveyance of photography equipment, there are many other potential uses where it would be a good fit. For example, the case would make an excellent contribution as a place to store and transport microphones and sound equipment for a band or entertainers.
Conclusion:
The MAGICLINE brand studio equipment trolley case with wheels is an extra heavy duty travel case specifically designed for the storage and conveyance of photography equipment, but also suitable for many other carriage purposes. An overall product score of 5/5 is assigned accordingly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Large and relatively beefy case
The construction is pretty good. Heavy duty zippers. Metal fasteners at key points. Extra scuff protection at the corners. Rub rails on back, but only higher up. One thing missing is rub rails towards the bottom to act as stair guides - this is a major oversight that could be easily corrected by just adding another set of the guides.
Inside the padded dividers feel like they have plastic in them to help better separate hard items from damaging things in the next compartment. And there is a full length insert to drop on top to protect items in the main case from interacting with items in the zippered compartments in the top of the case, but I wish there was a mechanism for veclroing this insert in so I didn't have to dump it on the floor every time I open the case.
The instructions say not to use it as a flight case. That needs to be in the listing, not something you find out after buying it.
Now on to the obvious: This case is pretty big. No surprise given the dimensions in the listing. But in person it takes up a fair amount of space, and doesn't pack down when not in use. That's ok for me in this case because I plan to use it for storing items, not just for transport. But if I was just planning on transporting stuff in it then it would be a pain to store and would take up a lot of space. Also, it's a bit heavy, so it will make your load weigh that much more than it already does and it is pretty easy to load this up with more weight than is easy to handle. It might have been better for me to get two smaller cases.
One minor bit: What is the drop down pocket in the light stands section for? generally I don't want anything knocking around with the light stands, so I'm not getting what they expect would go here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Title: Durable Rolling Case for Band Equipment (Spacious and Easy to Maneuver)
The MagicLine Studio Equipment Trolley Case has been a sanity saver when heading to gigs! This case offers ample room, thoughtfully designed to accommodate a significant amount of our band's smaller equipment. As my husband and I both perform (mostly him) in a classic rock cover band, we frequently transport gear to our shows. This rolling case has simplified the process tremendously. It's roomy enoTugh to store our microphone stands, cables, and even a small amplifier, while the robust wheels and telescoping handle make it effortless to move around.
The interior is well-padded, providing a secure and protected space for our essential and cherished equipment during travel. We also value the sturdy construction and reinforced corners. The only aspect we would like to see improved is the addition of external pockets for smaller accessories.
Overall, this trolley case is an excellent investment for musicians or anyone who needs to transport bulky equipment. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very BIG rolling case, but not for air travel
This case can easily hold 2-4 studio lights depending on their size and how efficiently you pack them. There will be room for lightstands too, depending on how big and beefy they are. It has multiple movable dividers that attach to the internal fabric lining with Velcro, there are also a couple of straps to help secure the light stands. There are enough dividers to make 4 light-sized compartments and one long compartment down the side for light stands. Depending on how you pack there will also be some room above the lights for other things. There is a pouch for smaller items and the entire top has a mesh section to slip other things into. Basically you could pack quite a lot of stuff in this one bag, pretty much a whole lighting kit. Though depending on how roughly you expect the bag to be handled you may want to fill the extra space with foam or towels so nothing moves around.
The bag has two wheels like typical luggage. There is also a sturdy double handle for carrying it horizontally like a duffle bag and a solid handle on top. All the interior of the bag is black, would have preferred a lighter color material as it makes it easier to find things in the bag.
One thing in the product description is that this is NOT recommended for use as a flight case. I can understand why, while the bag is sturdy and has reinforced corners, it is intended to hold up to 88 pounds. I can say from experience that bags this size and weight usually get pretty rough handling on airlines and probably wouldn't survive it for long. Also with rough handling the Velcro dividers could detach allowing the contents to shift. If your lights/gear came with good packing materials like foam, you might integrate it into the bag to give the gear more protection.
Since the bag is tall and thin it can be easily knocked over, putting heavier items in the bottom of the bag will help prevent this.
Overall a really good bag, even though it isn't recommended as a flight case it's good for packing up your stuff at home so it won't get dusty and transporting it in a car. With the wheels you can move a whole light kit around in one bag, so fewer trips setting up. Filled up this bag holds a lot more stuff in a small space than many other options.

4.0 out of 5 stars Holds a ton and still rolls nice and smooth!
I have the larger version of this bag, so was pleasantly surprised to see this small version come up. Good quality material used in building the bag, Not super heavy duty, but better quality than some of the other bags out there on 鶹. The stitching on the bag is nice and tight and the handle and hardware for the wheels are nice and solid. I knocked one star off of this because, like other similar gear bags, the wheels are on the side of the bag so to roll it you have to stand the bag up almost vertical, which is a pain, especially when it’s full of stands. Would preferred if the wheels extended down or attached to the bottom of the bag so you were able to roll it easier. Hopefully, with the next version they’ll change it. Other than that it’s a good size for medium sized light stands and other miscellaneous lighting gear. Padding is not the greatest, but you add in the Included dividers, it will be fine for storing lights in. Overall.👍🏼👍🏼
