A quality tripod carrying case for a good price!

- Reviewed in Canada on May 31, 2025Verified PurchaseI needed a tripod case of generous size for a big carbon fiber tripod and an equally big ball head on top. I had a Ruggard case previously but unfortunately at 27 inches it could only fit the tripod. The Ruggard was cheaper but less padded. This one isn't expensive for what it is. It has dividers inside, a small zippered pocket and a bigger one outside. It has a large shoulder strap and a carry handles as well. The padding is just enough to protect what is inside. It doesn't add too much bulk or weight. The case can be opened all the way from the side to the top which can be practical if you want to remove the contents from the top. It's the only thing that worries me a little bit about this case. The zippered top makes it overly complex to my liking and I wonder if it's the first thing that will go. That being said, the zipper itself seems of good quality. The extra few inches of this case are just enough to fit the large tripod that I have with the big ball head attached. It looks good too.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 1, 2025Verified PurchaseExcellent! I am using it for teansporting my take-fown bow and accessories. Well padded. Lots of room. Excellent stiching and zipper.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 21, 2025This appears to be a well made case for transporting tripods or lightstands. The main compartment easily fits my Manfrotto 055 tripod with ball head or video head. There are three lightweight dividers in the main compartment that are not padded but could hold smaller lightstands and keep them separated for transport. There are also exterior pockets that could be used for for small accessories. The zipper to the main compartment runs the full length of the case and make access easy. As well as the shoulder strap, there are large handles which easily drape around the handle of my rolling case allowing me to stack it and carry as one unit.
Time will tell the quality of things like the zippers and stitching, but for now I feel like this is a good case for transporting and storing my tripod without having to worry about it getting scratched, or how awkward it is to transport when it's not in a case.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 24, 2025I tend to think of tripod cases - and many cases for gear in general - as "storage", "travel" or "shipping" cases. Each has a purpose, and few cross the line to do "double duty". This really excellent case by MagicLine does!
I have spend hundreds of dollars on several tripod cases over the years. Some had great features - but not always. MagicLine has come up with this tripod carrying case that is - in my opinion - far underpriced in the market. Here's why...
Rather than a hard shell, like a shipping case, this one still provides a lot of protection, but with a soft exterior shell. Very well padded, it 1cm thick! If I'm traveling around in my truck, this is excellent! Loads of protection from other heavy cases, getting into and out of indoor locations, etc, etc. A feature I have never seen before, is the additional three sections inside the main compartment. If you were taking some light stands, or a monopod or two, these dividers would come in handy.
Funny, when I first started out, I was very concerned about getting stands knocked around. I really tried to keep gear looking new. Well, that didn't really last too long, but I still don't like some stuff hitting other stuff. My big Sachtler 20 tripod - that has its own case. Those carbon fibre legs aren't cheap! But common lighting stands, I have about three to five to a bag, depending on their size. Why mention this? I really do understand the desire to keep gear looking great. If you are like that, good for you! Don't change!
I absolutely love the crazy main compartment zipper! The way it snakes down the case and wraps around the tripod head! Brilliant! And I like a big, heavy zipper too. When assistants help you out, some might not be as gentle as you are with your gear. I always ask any assistants to please do each zipper up to the half-way point. Why? This way, I always know where I have to start the zipper. Otherwise, the zipper end might be at the top or the bottom. I can get frustrated hunting for the darn zipper end!
There is a nice sized zippered pocket on the inside, and two, good sized zippered pockets on the outside. You can never have enough pockets!
The hand straps and the shoulder strap are all made of the "seatbelt" material. Tough as nail. And I love the fact that both the handles and the shoulder strap have there webbing wrap all around the case. Talk about tough! About the only thing I would change with this case, is adding a bit silicon treatment to the underside of the shoulder pad. As it is, it will slip off your shoulder with ease.
Bottom Line - A truly excellent case! A case like this, is an investment because it will prolong the life of your tripod. It's rare to find such a well crafted tripod case. If you don't already have such a case, and you have or are about to invest in a good tripod (fluid head or static) you need to buy this one. The price is crazy low and the quality is crazy high! Almost fifty years of working with cameras and tripods gives me a few Brownie points towards knowing a thing or two about cases! Thanks!
- Reviewed in Canada on May 7, 2025I've had a tripod carrying case for 25 years that has served me well. I believe it cost me close to $100. back then and it has allowed me to carry two tripods and some accessories for years. I decided to try this carrying case from MagicLine because I wanted to be able to carry a mic stand as well, and this case certainly didn't let me down.
Likes:
- Separate pouches for each item helps to protect your tripods during transport
- Sturdy build quality with good choice of materials used
- Lightweight design doesn't add a lot of weight to the equipment itself
- Zippered end adds versatility to what you can carry, in case the item (my mic stand) is too long
- Shoulder strap and hand grip options
- Reasonable pricing / good value
Dislikes:
- I would have preferred if the shoulder strap was placed on the zippered side of the case so the zipper would be facing upward while transporting it over your shoulder. I just feel like it might put a little less strain on the zipper while carrying it this way. However, this is just speculation. The internal pouches help with this and it hasn't let me down.
- I'm used to having 3 accessory pouches on the outside of my old carrying case. While the pouch on the side of this case is substantial, it would be nice if they'd add two smaller ones (one on either side) so I could keep my accessories organized a bit better.
Overall, this is a quality made tripod carrying case. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good value case for their gear!

5.0 out of 5 stars Multiple uses
Verified PurchaseActually purchased to keep a Mossberg Shockwave shotgun. It's a little bit long but works well. This case is well built, has lots of pockets inside and out. I'm guessing for a tripod and camera equipment it would work very well. It's padded on the inside and has dividers for the legs of a tripod.

5.0 out of 5 stars Substantial Case
This is a great tripod case. I can fit 2 full size tripods and a little collapsible camp stool in the main section, and a couple of LED lights in the pocket.
The material is really tough and durable and it looks nice. The zippers are beefy and built to last. I like the way the end cap zips open first so you don’t have to open the whole thing to slide something in or out.
My only gripe is that the shoulder strap should be mounted on the same side as the handles but it’s actually mounted on the bottom of the case for some reason. I wish the shoulder strap was longer and had more cushion as well.
I love this case though, and recommend it to anyone looking for a quality case to fit a few tripods into for a great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Spacious Bag for Tripods and Light Stands
This tripod carrying case is well-designed and a provided a very practical solution for transporting tripods, light stands, mic stands, and other gear. The bag feels durable, with quality stitching and a padded interior that provides good protection for equipment. The three inner compartments help keep items organized, preventing them from shifting around during transport. The padding is sufficient to offer protection without adding too much bulk.
One of the standout features is the storage space. The two outer pockets and inner pocket allow for carrying additional accessories like cables, clamps, or small lighting accessories. The compartments make it easy to separate different pieces of equipment, which is especially useful for those who need to transport multiple stands or tripods for a shoot. The zippers are sturdy and glide smoothly, adding to the overall ease of use.
The shoulder strap and handles are comfortable, making it relatively easy to carry, even when fully loaded. The material seems durable enough to handle frequent use, though the bag is not rigid, so it doesn’t offer the same level of protection as a hard case. However, for most everyday use, it provides enough cushioning to keep gear safe from minor bumps and impacts.
Overall, this bag is a great value for the price, offering plenty of space and organization for photographers and videographers. While it may not be as protective as a hard-shell case, its combination of padding, compartments, and extra pockets makes it a very functional and convenient option for transporting gear safely.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Helpful!
This carrying case makes life so much easier when transporting my tripod or other stands. It's always so cumbersome to bring certain items. This case has nice padding, so it doesn't beat you up as you carry everything. I can consolidate bags and still have everything I need. The bag is heavy-duty and should really hold up. It carries more than one item, so that's helpful! This bag is a great price for what it is. The zippers are strong and smooth to use. It's a great-sized bag and a great addition to my equipment.
