This case is not just for three "C-Stands" - it it for so much more than that! It a full-blown production case that can store and transport a huge amount of gear!
Quick History - The "C-Stand" - for those who don't know. Years back, a company named "Century", came up with the idea of a stand that was more than just another "lighting stand". These stands had a small base of three legs. Each had a different height of the cross member of the leg, so the c-stands could be placed very close to each other. Some had "Rocky Mountain" legs - legs that could be set to different heights, like on stairs. In short, excellent stands for using with Nets, Flags and almost any times you need to hold something up. Like a background! Very versatile!
So, these stands became known as "Century Stands" and that got shortened to "C-Stands". The other well known name is a "grip stand". Today, both names are thrown around a set, as both names mean the same piece of gear. I thought a few people out there, might like to know, if they did not already. Heck, I didn't know when I started!
This superb case by MagicLine is very well thought out, very well made, and an excellent way to transport gear. It can easily take three c-stands, and the ideal way to do that, is to take them apart. The base easily detaches from the single pole and both pieces can be held in place with the various belts, elastics and the adjustable foam panels. That is what makes this case so great - the possibility of changing the configuration you have right now.
If you add another piece of gear - say, add another light stand - it's great to have the option to adjust the interior. You might want to have the new stand added to the same area as another stand, or maybe you want to distribute the weight better. By having an interior with moveable parts, you can do this.
I have had custom hard cases made for me in the past, and although they are great for what you designed them for, as equipment changes, or you start using different kinds of gear, suddenly that solid, custom case does not fit your work style anymore. I would always suggest a case that can adapt.
If you place three c-stands, three light-weight lighting stands, some grip heads, and a bunch of small, lighting parts, the case is going to be more than a single person should carry. Yes, there is a centre strap that can actually take a lot of weight, as it is stitched into the side panels - very heavy duty! But there are two, excellent end handles made for this. With two people - one at each end - this baby is easy to move! And although it is going to be heavy with gear, you are saving yourself at least three other bags.
Another example of smart design, is loading this case into your van or truck. The bottom has a series of "skid plates" - solid hard plastic/nylon runners that will allow the case to slide on these as you push/pull the unit into place. The corners are all armoured, too. Protecting both the case and the contents.
The case will stand up without any problem, as it has two large feet on the same end as the two wheels. This makes storage easy, as it takes up a very small footprint either in you studio/storage area, or on set at work.
A very smart idea, too, is the fact the padded fabric that surrounds the entire case, is removable. Or, at least, you can find a zipper that give you access to the hard shell inner case. Why do you want that? In case of a break. You can get in there, and you can make repairs. Now, I doubt that will happen, but if it does, rather than having to toss out the entire case, it can be repaired to "like new". To me, that's an excellent feature! Stuff can break, and having a way to fix it, is just the kind of thinking I want to support. Not the "break it and it's done" theory of far too many products...
Other smart features is the strap to hole the lid open, rather than just having the lid flop over. I like the wheels that DO NOT swivel. I want my case to go where I want it to go, not where it wants to go. You might find this funny, but it looks professional. That's important. Part of working, is looking the part. Show up with a golf club bag and see what happens. It might transport what you have, but it does not install confidence in a client! Inside, there is centre, removable section for use as the bottom base of c-stands. However, on the flip side, the entire side is one giant pocket. For me, an excellent place to safely store a number of gels and diffusion material. Again, this case has so many possibilities for storage and transport.
I was going to add some photos of these various features, but if you look at the ad, everything is shown. Armoured corners, wheels, interior design - it's all there.
Bottom Line - An excellent piece of equipment! That's right - equipment! It's doing a job and doing it very well. That to me, is the definition of a piece of equipment. It will store and protect whatever products you decide to store. It will transport those same pieces, safely too. And again, my big point, you can alter the interior to fit a change in a particular job coming up, or a more permanent change in your gear. At least Five out of Five Stars!

Perfect travel companion for all my camera equipment event carrying needs
Really impressed in every way by the thickness and durability of these hard, all-weather, trolly cases available from MAGICLINE that offer me the most protection I have ever had, and could ever have need for, when it comes to protecting my lighting stands and other camera gear. I ordered the 143 x 40 x 22 cm trolly case. I have previously acquired some of this brands smaller, softer round-cases for various equipment, but needed even longer, more durable case for studio equipment during longer travel plans. I am a Fujifilm mirrorless shooter in particular, and like any mirrorless gear, it does not come cheap. I also invest in a lot of lighting equipment for my studio and other shoots, and I have found that regular bags just don't cut it when travelling long distances. This case is so completely protective in every way, as well as offering the additional benefit of wheels and very durable handles, large zippers and lock options. It is in every way built to withstand the rigours of distance travel or large event work. I also happened to have ordered my version in black, and I don't think this product comes in any other colour options. But black is nondescript and perfect for travel. I am hugely impressed by the likewise black inside inserts — plenty of customization. You can pull the Velcro rectangles out as you need to create a form fitting space that is specifically matching your particular camera or video gear and other equipment setups. There are also Velcro wraps to keep tripods and other long gear secure. Overall, this is the best case for my needs, and I can only assume it would be for anyone else already considering a trolly case like this. It's really awesome, and can easily be stacked if you decided to get more than one, which I absolutely will be, in the future. Very impressed by this product. 5 stars.

- Reviewed in Canada on May 13, 2025This is a nice trolley case. It has reinforced corners, a rigid shell, and thick internal padding gives peace of mind when transporting expensive equipment. The interior is laid out with adjustable dividers, Velcro straps, and elastic bands that make it easy to configure based on what you're transporting. It's clearly designed with filmmakers and photographers in mind, especially those needing to carry C stands or similar gear. Mobility is another plus, the wheels roll smoothly, the handles feel secure, and the feet let it stand upright without tipping. However, it’s very heavy, even empty, and it's huge. Overall though, it's a nice case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bag irregardless of the price
Verified PurchaseThis is a surprisingly good and very well made bag - especially for the price. The outside is durable and the zippers are excellent. Holds a lot of stuff - 3 c-stand (with turtle bases) and several other light stands as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really nice for lugging heavy C-Stands around!
This is a nice case for transporting C-stands that allows one person to easily move three of them around on wheels. It has plenty of room for the stands, bases, boom arms, two grip heads per stand and a set of wheels for each stand. The top of the case can stash other reasonably flat items like extension cords, empty sandbags and umbrellas. You could also put any softbox that folds fairly flat in there. It holds everything securely so it won't bang around in transport. What's more it's a sturdy case which is necessary for holding these heavy stands. Sturdy zippers, heavy plastic corners on the outside and all the other stuff you would expect. There are a bunch of bag length as well as smaller dividers that attach with velcro. You easily have a compartment for each set of wheels and for each pair of grip heads. There are three straps you can use to hold all this down inside the bag.
My C-Stands came with flimsy cases or none at all. I've bought one padded dual carry bag which works but is still a pretty heavy thing to carry when loaded. A good C-Stand with grip heads, boom arm and wheels weighs in at at least 25 pounds. That means fully loaded this case will probably weigh over 100 pounds (the case weighs 20 pounds empty). So far, it seems to be built well enough to handle the weight and it's easier to move around with 3 C-stands in it than my padded bag is with only two. Also it ends up having a fair amount of room where you can slip in other smaller items.
I'm a big fan of C-Stands over tripod style ones, the only disadvantage is their weight. This case makes it easy to transport them so it's a big win. It also stores them standing up on end so they take up less space when I'm not using them.
Only a couple disadvantages I can see to this case. Since it weighs over 100 pounds fully loaded you will probably get hit with a heavy bag fee if you want to take it on an airplane. Also airline baggage handlers are frequently very rough on heavy bags. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about this.
The other issue is that the bag is tall and fairly thin, which I find makes it easy to accidentally tip over, and due to fully loaded weight if it does fall over it will come down on whatever it hits with the force of a sledgehammer. So be careful to store it where it can't easily be knocked over and in a place where, if it falls, it won't hit anything fragile.
Overall, I like this case a lot!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good quality case, but the wheels are not great
This is a good-quality case and feels heavy duty given that it's a soft-sided case. The case holds its own shape and doesn't have any weird folded spots for it to collapse into itself. The internal organizational dividers and panels are excellent and are very helpful.
A few shortcomings in this case that prevented it from getting 5 stars. First, the case is very heavy even when it is empty. I can't imagine how heavy this case would get when you load 3 C-stands in it. All I have to say is, when fully loaded, be prepared to pay an excess luggage weight fee if you're flying with this case. Second, the wheels are not great and don't spin freely. For a case that is meant to hold heavy gear, I'm very disappointed that the wheels don't move very smoothly at all. Third, The two handles on each of the far ends of the case are made with plastic. That includes the handle by the wheels. If you set the case down just a bit too hard, I fear that the handle will break. Only time will tell if the handles will hold up.
I have a conference coming up where I would need this case to travel my setup from the hotel to the venue. I will update this review with how well this case works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Build
C stands are great for on location sessions, and even carrying one for outdoor sessions is nice, but they are heavy and the turtle bases make them cumbersome to lug around. Need to take three of them with you and it's almost a nightmare, especially for a single person. That's where this case comes in. I had a couple other ones but this exceeds those ones.
First of all, the bag comfortably holds 3 C stands, with turtle bases (that are on their own board with elastic bands to hold them to the board, by the way) but there's also room for other things like umbrellas, boom arms (within reason), boom knuckles and wheels for your turtle bases. Now, this isn't a lightweight setup, but it surely makes getting them around easier.
Secondly, the outside of the case is great. The handles are hard plastic and are securely attached to the bag, and there's one on the bottom, should you have a helper that can grab the handle for moving. The wheels are solid and move well, and there's footing at the bottom to help stand the bag upright, however I wouldn't load the case up and expect it to stay standing, as it's a lot of weight in there.
Finally, the slides on the bottom make it easier for getting it in and out of your vehicle.

2.0 out of 5 stars Well, it fits 3 C-Stands, but...
Verified PurchaseOkay, let me start with the good. The bag will hold 3 C-Stands. It's large enough to fit other things in it as well. The wheels roll very well. It's a great way to store your stands, and a great idea in theory.
However...
This bag is simply not designed to handle the weight of 3 C-Stands. The top handle, that you use when rolling the case, has ripped twice on me already. (I've used it twice now). I'm not hard on my gear either. I paid good money for my stuff, so it gets treated in a way to last. Also, I only have 2 C-Stands in the bag, not 3.
It's a great product in thought, but it's a pain to be constantly fixing the handles because they keep ripping.
