- Reviewed in Canada on June 20, 2025Verified PurchaseHubby was able to change the drain in out tub. Worked like a charm.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 7, 2025Verified PurchaseHad tub drain strainer that required exactly this tool. Used a large rubber mallet to pound it into position. Used channel locks to back out the strainer. Done in less than 5 minutes!
- Reviewed in Canada on November 4, 2024Verified PurchaseI'm thrilled that it worked. Took me over an hour, used hair dryer to heat the old drain several times, yanked on it, it fell off, hammered it back in a few times until it gripped properly. Then I still couldn't get it off without a lot of force. I didn't have a breaker bar so I braced myself against the tub and used my legs as force. That surprisingly worked!
Advice...make sure you have a 1/2 adapter for your ratchet and use a lot of heat and patience. It doesn't come off easily. I was very pleased that it did the job! And this extraction tool still looks like new afterwards! It's a good tool, you just have to realize that it may take an hour or more.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 22, 2024Verified PurchaseHusband finds no fault in this item itself. The problem was we have old apartments with tubs over 30 plus years old. The old tubs and these newer tubs have different sized drains. Likely gone metric. He did get the drain out of the old tub, but he did a lot of hammering and then had to use a very long pipe for leverage. It was not an easy task. This item is just small enough in the older drain that it kept slipping. Will likely work very much better in the new tubs as their drains are a little smaller. Be warned that also means the new replacement parts will not fit the old tubs either.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 16, 2025Verified PurchaseSnapped the cross off two bath tub drains. Thought this was going to be trouble, but in under five minutes this extractor was successful with both. Used a heat gun for 20 secs, two hammer hits to seat the extractor and the ratchet didn't slip at all.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 29, 2024Verified PurchaseMy drain was broken so I could not use the other tool to extract it. I bought this instead but it was not even gripping the ring, it just kept slipping. I ended up grinding the remaining drain ring off with a grinder tip on a drill gun with care not to damage the threads.

5.0 out of 5 stars It worked on my old hardened stubborn tub drain
Verified PurchaseWorked perfectly. Tub drain was hardened onto the tub over 4 decades. Non of the other "YouTube" tricks worked and busted my knuckles good. I used this extractor with my 1/2" drive impact wrench and was able to knock it loose in seconds!!!
Only thing I'm upset about is not having used this sooner

5.0 out of 5 stars Would buy again if ever needed
Verified PurchaseWorked great no issues at all would buy again. Grip slipped a little but once it grabbed ahold it worked as expected. A little down pressure when you start turning it helps alot to grab ahold

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!
Verified PurchaseWe had an old tub drain that needed changing. It was corroding and in terrible shape. We couldn’t use the traditional drain remover because it didn’t have the little cross bars. This thing saved the day. Didn’t seem like it was going to work at first but after trying for awhile the old drain finally came up. It’s good quality considering it took some rough handling to get the drain out. Much happier with a new drain!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tool worked great - but had been previously used
Verified PurchaseReceived a tool which had been previously used. Other than that, this worked great to remove a drain which didn't have any cross-threads left
