I would give this 5 stars if it wasn’t for the spelling mistake (“length” is spelled incorrectly), and the use of “gallons” instead of litres … since the book is Canadian. Also, we spell it “litre”rather than “liter” in Canada. I have chosen to keep the book despite these discrepancies, because I love the layout and the memories it cherishes. A beautiful keepsake.

It might not be accurate for some cultures as it specifies Christmas and Easter etc, but you can always just write what are you substituting it with! For example, we don’t have baby showers in my culture but we do celebrate baby’s 40 days since birth. Quality is amazing especially for such moderate price!

There's nothing worse for new parents than having a bunch of things to do with a newborn and so I like this MAPES New Keepsake Baby Memory Book for Boys & Girls because it has very little you need to do/record for each month. It's got a couple simple prompts for each month along with some places to put photos to track your baby's first year, but it's not an overwhelming amount of stuff. You would easily be able to complete this as your baby grows or more realistically after their first year when you finally feel a bit more normal and have a bit more time. The pages were simple and modern looking with a neutral aesthetic that didn't feel too cutesy or too adult. My only complaint is that it would be useful if the book came with something like photo tape/photo corners so that you could more easily place the photos in the book. As it is, you need to provide whatever you use to stick the photos to the book.

I saw this beautiful keepsake baby book and thought it would make a great gift for a mother-to-be.

This book comes inside a decorative rigid cardboard sleeve that protects the book.

A section allows parents to tell their stories about growing up, how they met, and the parents' waiting for the baby's arrival. A section deals with the baby's birth and when the baby arrives home.

There is a trivia page the child can look back on, "The world on the day you arrived", listing technology, movies, music artists, noteworthy news, national leaders, and the prices of various everyday items.
One problem with this section concerns price and measurement. The price of gas is in litres, and the price of milk is in gallons. There are pages for each month (12), and room for photos, then there are pages for birthdays from 1 year of age to 5. There is a growth chart, and the book's last page is a pocket to hold memories. It's flat so it won't hold a lot.

We had this type of book for our children, and the dental chart in their books is not found in this book. While this book has a line for the first tooth, the dental chart allowed us to enter the date a tooth erupted. While it would have been nice to be included in this book, you can download and print "Tooth Tracker" sheets from the internet, and keep them in the pocket at the back of the book.

I would gift this lovely book to any soon-to-be mother before her big date so she could begin recording things before they become too busy.
