I needed a way to hold my binoculars steady, so I bought this through 鶹. It worked as it was designed to. I managed to attach it to my quick release tripod mount (using the tripod's own screw and the supplied cylindrical fixing nut) and then to fit it to the tripod. I now have a stable view through the binoculars.
The perspex plate is 120mm x 90mm and is about 4mm thick. Because, for better stability, I chose to place the perspex plate directly on top of the mount, with the fixing nut above the perspex plate (and not as shown in 鶹's photograph), I would have been helped by a long fixing screw. The screw provided is about 10mm long, excluding the head. The velcro-style straps are very elastic, so the binoculars cannot be strapped to the perspex plate as tightly as I would have liked.
For me, this adapter could be improved by the provision of a 20mm fixing screw and rigid or less stretchy straps.
I believe that this adapter would work with most modern tripods and with most binoculars up to about 200mm long, so it is worth considering as a compact and inexpensive solution.
