I have the Lorex 900X series wired only NVR. I wanted this doorbell camera to record to the NVR but it and the other WIFI cameras are not listed as compatible. Since I could see the IP on my network I was able to manually add it to the NVR and it works and records perfectly. I can configure it through the NVR software just like a wired camera. So as long as the NVR is connected to the wireless router it seems that the doorbell cameras and other WIFI cameras are useable.

I still use Lorex Home to answer the doorbell and it works perfectly in Lorex Cloud too.

Very happy with the quality of the picture for both day and night, it set up with my mechanical door chime perfectly, and it looks great. I had to upgrade my doorbell transformer from the original 10V to a 24VAC 40VA.

Setup was a breeze out of the box. NVR setup was virtually the same as the wired cameras connected to the box and not through the PoE switch, which was counterintuitive.

Love this camera and love that it connected to my wired system.

EDIT: The camera comes with 2 additional angle mounts: 5 degrees up/down, and 15 degrees left/right. Only one can be used, but I needed both a left angle and an upward angle, so I attached the left angle to the camera, and then modified the wedge by removing the tabs and installing it backwards against the wall. Since it is held on through the screw holes this worked perfectly and looks great.

So I bought this as I have a wired doorbell and thought I had the proper transformer, I didn't. Then I bought a multi tap one that does 24v and 20va so I thought this would be more than enough, NOPE after just about 40 min on the phone with LORAX SUPPORT I am told oh yeah it needs to be 16 v 30 va minimum but should be 24 v 40 va!!! Have to figure out what the heck is going on with the wired door chime as it is acting funny, going to see if it's because not enough amperage from the transformer I bought. It's easy to install oh and something they don't tell you it does not work on a 5g network it will only work on a 2.4g network, so you have to have your phone on the slower 2.4g if you want to use this device.

For starters my chime/transformer met all the requirements for voltage but would not work, not even a chirp. The camera install was easy and quick, connected to the network just fine, but would NEVER complete connecting to the Lorex Home app. It worked great on my NVR, picture quality seemed perfectly adequate. Given how easy it was to install and initially how easily it appeared to setup on the wireless network, it was ultimately a total disappointment with the chime and the Lorex Home app being unable to connect to my account. I wasted hours of my life on this product.

For those who don't read the details, ! I will go straight to the point- BUY IT! - it is the best in the market for great features, easy install and no subscription. It does what it promises to do!.

It looks nice on the door too, with an actual ring button that let's users know it is a door bell.

Now for those who want the details:
Easy to install even if you own an old house with an old mechanical door bell. It is compatible, unlike many other expensive door bells seem to have issues with mechanical chime. The box has more than enough tools and cables for you to use. I have not seen a company that goes an extra mile with so many high quality extras to assist you. Now of cause, if you are not confrontable to install it yourself, you can always hire an expert. But really they have tried to make it easy. Just make sure you remember your WIFI password as typing it wrong you will need to reset it. Again it is not difficult to do so. Or contact their support, quick response and very helpful! In fact they contact you before you even receive the product!

Features- has the best, and mostly same features that other expensive brands have and even more, but these are offered to a user without subscription. The best of all, you can add a user on to the account.

Google nest gen 2 and ecobee wired cameras are the worst in my opinion, ( buy this lorex instead) because they are useless unless you pay subscription. I had to return google nest gen 2 doorbell because it charges you for simple events- which defeats the purpose of a doorbell camera. Eufy brand is okay and free too but it doesnt integrate with mechanical chimes. Therefore Lorex is the winner on this. As you can use your existing wiring that came or was originally built with the house.

Chime; you can mute your mechanical chime via the app.

motion detection works perfect. I tested it with zones.

color night mode is better, you see the details unlike the infrared ones.

it serves both as a doorbell, and a security camera. and a deterrent.

Overall;- For the price you buy it for and, its features its the best on the market! I have tried other brands so my review is based on the facts.

Got the item on sale finally! I've been watching this item for months. Looks great when installed. Works great. Very sensitive for motion detection. Integrates well with other Lorex products through the app. Glad there are no monthly charges/fee. Being directly powered so no recharging is a bonus.

Hook up to existing doorbell chime worked without too much effort. Simple installation instructions.

4:3 imaging not as advertised. Still in 16:9 mode in app, but good wide angle lens. Possible software/app update in future to correct the issue?
