From the manufacturer

King of Rohan. A grim, strong man with a deadly hammer-like punch. His greatest strength-and weakness-is his deep love for his children.
A princess of Rohan with a wild spirit. Hera thrives on the plains, riding and exploring. Honest and true, she refuses to conform to others' expectations.
Lord Fréaláf Hildeson, nephew of Helm, is First Marshall of the Riddermark and Héra's elder cousin.
The son of Freca. While he feels fondness for Héra, rejection by both her and Helm hardens him and his sense of injustice leads him to wage war.
Once a Shield Maiden of Rohan, she is companion and lady's maid to the King of Rohan's only daughter, Héra.
Haleth, prince of Rohan, is a dependable son who's meant to follow in his father Helm's footsteps.
The second son of Helm. His nature is more sensitive - he reads, sings and plays music on his lyre
Lord of the West March. His mixed Dunlending heritage is a source of scorn and mockery from King Helm.

- Reviewed in Canada on March 13, 2025Verified PurchaseLove this Story. Big Lord of the Rings Fan. This was a great addition to my personal collection. The story (Prequel) is a story worth adding to The Lord of the Rings storyline. Can't wait for the new movies that will be coming in the future regarding The Hunt For Gollum. Can't wait ! Can't Wait!
- Reviewed in Canada on April 13, 2025Verified PurchaseI was pleasantly surprised with this animated film. I had read reviews and expected the worse, but being a fantasy movie fan, I wanted to watch it. I liked the movie and the story. Good animation, engaging story, and good fight scenes.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 19, 2025Verified PurchaseTolkien purists will hate this movie, saying it's not canon. I, however, enjoyed it. This movie alllowed me to spend some time in Middle-Earth, which is to be enjoyed as much as a trip to the tropics. Even though it's animated, it has some very strong Peter Jackson' LOTR and The Hobbit vibes to it. Since I enjoyed those movies very much, this new movie felt like going back for a visit to Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth. The artwork of the Steelbook was worth the extra few dollars more. The map inside was also a very nice touch.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 19, 2025Verified PurchaseAfter seeing the movie in the theater I wanted my own copy. Unfortunately the bluray has no resume function at all. If your pause it and/or turn it off, when you turn it back on it goes back to the main menu and you have to go to chapter selection and remember where you left off. This is silly because dvds and blurays have had resume capability for decades. There's no excuse for making a disc that cannot resume. VHS tapes resumed. (Of course they also had to be rewound.)
- Reviewed in Canada on February 16, 2025Verified PurchaseThis isn't a perfect movie there isn't much of a story but they weren't working with much of a story to begin with they took whatever lore they could and they kind of added to it unlike the rings of power where they took already lore and characters and change them which sucks this they took characters who did exist not much is known about them and gave them a story
- Reviewed in Canada on March 19, 2025Verified PurchaseGreat story - really fun animation.
I am very glad to have added it to the rest of my LOTR movie collection :)
- Reviewed in Canada on February 6, 2025Verified PurchaseMy fiance and I were so excited for this, but it was an extreme letdown. The animation left a lot to be desired, and the plot itself was meh. It felt more like a basic anime movie pretending to be a LOTR movie. It felt cheap, and I felt no connection to any of the characters. It's hard to watch a 2+hr movie when you don't care what happens to any of the mcs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great film
Verified PurchaseI actually got this for my mum who is a massive Lord of the Rings fan.
She was very sceptical at first as this was a cartoon (her words) but within a few minutes of started she was enjoying it nonetheless.
Really decent film. The voice acting is good and the animation is also very good as well.
A nice additional to all the other LOTR films my mum has.

5.0 out of 5 stars Una obra maestra
Verified PurchaseUna maravilla de edición a la altura de una película increíble, aunque es cierto que el relato de Tolkien la protagonista no es la hija, es más ni siquiera tiene nombre, es una increíble adaptación a la altura de la obra de Tolkien.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Anime that follows the given Hammerhand Mythology from the LOTR Appendices
Verified PurchaseI am a Tolkien fan and I enjoyed this film because it sparked a greater interest in the events of Middle Earth that took place around the time of Hammerhand's demise (3rd Age 2759) and what could have happened to his daughter. It definitely broadened my appreciation of the Rohirrim's history and eventually led me to a forgotten piece of information about Elendil's grave. I've added this one to my collection.
