This is one of the coolest things ever. I'm 27 years old who is constantly knitting, crocheting and working with looms. I own a solid old style loom but I decided to pick up one of these looms up after having previously looked at it and questioning how well it would really work. Bloody thing is incredible, mind you it is on the pricy side if you are thinking of purchasing multiples to join them together (would seriously recommend Michaels with a 50% off coupon). Seriously this loom is a dream to use, it's pretty much idiot proof, I'm serious. It requires like 3 steps to use and seriously there is no way to mess it up, unlike a traditional loom with tangles and the worry of pulling too hard or not hard enough. The base does have some weight to it, the only down side I can see to this loom is that the posts are plastic so there is a little concern that they may warp over time. I would use your own yarn they don't give you very much in the package to get you started but that's the great thing you can use whatever yarn you want on this suckers!

    Bought this item to keep kids busy but they grew really bored with it. I then just made a cardboard loom and found them much more engaged. I know the item itself is completely functional - just not as engaging as something to keep people busy with.

    I bought this because I wanted an introduction to weaving that wasn't fiddly. I figure if I could do this, I can move onto real weaving later and buy a better loom. It is easy to set up and use. My only problem is the shifting of the pegs. While, the handle does indeed turn them, I don't see where it does anything. I could weave the strands between the pegs and not turn it and get the same result. The warp strands simply turn within the weft, it doesn't shift the weft in any way. I've double checked the instruction booklet, and I am setting it up right, so I don't know if I'm doing something else wrong, or if the turning pegs are just a gimmick to make you think you're doing more than just winding strands between pegs. All in all, I am enjoying the product and it has got me wanting to move onto more intricate weaving.
