- Reviewed in Canada on December 8, 2020Verified Purchasei really like flying games, rogue squadron for gamecube was my favorite, so when Star Wars Squadrons came out i had to get it, and of course a flight stick. i was hesitant to spend this much on a flight stick, but i wanted the throttle with it and reviews seemed to point to this being one of the best without going really crazy on price for a casual user. i can say it did not take long before it was obvious this is worth the money. the build quality is great, it fits perfectly in your hands and can adjust for larger/smaller hands. there are buttons and joysticks everywhere on this, they are all lit so you can easily see them and they are all positioned perfectly to reach and use. you can spend hours customizing the buttons for a game but when you get it right its so smooth and give you a huge advantage over people fiddling with keyboards and controllers. it also just looks and feels amazingly cool, you will likely exclaim aloud how amazing it is several times, even while alone.
perfectly adjusting your speed to come up behind a TIE fighter, then flip up the safety and blast it with missiles and strafe it into a fiery ball just feels so much more satisfying and easier to do.
if i had to complain i would mention that while this has suction cups, depending on your desk, etc. this can be hard to hold in place when youre in a dogfight making hard turns.
the instructions are just a paper with a link to drivers. theres no real introduction to how to set up or use the stick. for the most part you can just plug it in and play but there is a tiny app that has some options you can change. in fact for squadrons you need to change an option or you cant bind to one of the buttons on throttle.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 25, 2021Verified PurchaseGreat stick. Does the job and has more buttons than a controller so it's easy to map out most options.
That being said this stick does not come with proper instructions. You have to download logitech software to map out profiles and keys. The worse part is that the software is also hard to find. Took my couple of hours to find it.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 21, 2020Verified PurchaseI found the joystick tends to bind in some directions occasionally. Other than that it works well for Elite Dangerous.

- Reviewed in Canada on December 8, 2020Verified Purchasethe stick is fine and I have no issues with it but I am somewhat unhappy with the throttle. the whole assembly feels more lightweight and plasticky then is reasonable to expect. It is way more fun then using mouse and keyboard but I am still a little bit letdown. Not the most expensive one out there but for almost 300$ I was expecting better quality.
that being said, it works well and a lot of the ergonomics are well designed/adjustable. Would recommend if this is the highest price point that works for you but really if I where to do it again I would either get something way cheaper and save some money knowing im going for poor quality or bite the bullet and get a high end one that feels right
- Reviewed in Canada on December 21, 2020Verified PurchaseI was really looking forward to receiving this product but I then very disappointed.
Usually I always start with the pros, but this time I wanted to mark my disappointment:
Cons:
- The big negative issue that makes me return this product is the lack of sensitivity, I did not find any way to calibrate nor adjust it, the joystick has a wide dead zone area and is very num therefor it is very hard to be precise in any games. Because you alway have to over compensate in order to make the plane move.
- Compatibility issue: for some game like War Thunder or Ace Combat it was a big pain to figure out how to makes the joystick works becausesome games require to install X52 Professional Space / Flight H.O.T.A.S. But once it is installed there a big chance that it will stop working with FS2020, there is indeed a bug which forces you to unplug the logitech x52 before launching FS2020 and plug it in before otherwise it will not be recognized! I wasted a lot of time on the forums before figuring out how to work around the problem.
- It would have been much easier if the games could have been compatible with logitech hub.
Pros
- Overall material quality is good for the price
- At first it seems that it is pretty much straight forward as you just have to plug and play, therefor, some games doesn't required to install any software, it worked directly with Flight Simulator 2020 for example, the game recognizes directly the joystick and it was ready to use until I had to install
In summary a big disappointment for the price too much headaches and a return within 30 days without any regrets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value!
Verified PurchaseCouldn’t be more excited about the X52 Logitech. My last HOTAS was the thrustmaster HOTAS X. The Logitech X52 is Way superior feel and flight control not to mention all the buttons for binding controls.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for the money
Verified PurchaseI bought this a few months ago to use for Microsoft flight sim 20 and for DCS. I used it on a gaming laptop with the newest windows 11. When I plugged in the HOTAS I was a little upset to see that the software didn’t work with windows 11 and only the older versions and they haven’t put out an update for it yet. There are work around a for this. Regardless though it still does work and works pretty well without the updated drivers. The only issue you’ll find is some lack of customization in keybinds and the throttle portion of the HOTAS will not light up. Either way I used it pretty seamlessly on DCS and MSFS20. For a beginner setup I think it’s a great buy. You get a ton of buttons and controls that allows you to get pretty immersed in the game without dropping $500+ on the more premium setups. Some of the pretty big YouTubers who play flight sims have started on this setup as well and still recommend it before going premium. It comes with suction cups that stick very securely to your desk and they worked very well. Once they’re down they’re gonna stay there. I had to move my setup so I removed the suction cups and I did find that once they were removed they did pop up a few times since there was no easy way to remove them in the first place without getting a fingernail under one edge and breaking the seal which did deform the edge a little. The joystick is pretty solid but the motion does feel a little “budget” the spring tension can feel weak thus resulting in some drift which can be altered and fixed in game through the axis sensitivity etc. overall I probably have about 35 hours on it and I would recommend it for a beginner budget setup again without jumping into the premium setups. If you’re just getting into flight sims and don’t want one of those all in one joysticks then this would be a good rout for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Flight Controller
Verified PurchaseMy review of this item is not very detailed because this was a gift for my husband. However, I do know that he loves this flight control system. He was really impressed with the features, the different functions and accuracy for use in games. I am really glad he was happy with this flight controller.
I will say I was bummed that the package was in the manufacture box. Because this was a Christmas gift and my husband went to get the mail only to find his Christmas gift in there. So much for a surprise. It's possible I could have missed the option to choose during the checkout but due to the value of the item I would have expected it be shipped in an 鶹 box.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dead on Arrival-Plagued with manufacturer defects
Verified PurchaseI have wanted to dip my toes into flight simming for a long time, and the big problem I've had is finding a stick that will work with DCS (that is, has enough hats and selector switches for modern aircraft) while being at an affordable price. There are some nice looking sticks out there, but I just dont have $500+ to drop on some professional level equipment when I really am looking for a higher end entry level product. The X52 seemed perfect, plenty of buttons and switches, enough hats, looked comfortable and exactly what I wanted. Plus the price (~$200 at time of review) was pretty attractive as well. So I pulled the trigger.
The stick itself is nice. Its all plastic and feels like it, but the buttons and switches all feel comfortable and nice. I have big hands, but the throttle assembly felt a little large to me. Maybe something I would have gotten used to? In the pro column, though, is that the throttle has a ton of little buttons and switches tucked away, stuff that would make MFD use in DCS very simple or which could be good radiator toggles in IL-2. All the buttons on the stick, felt good and natural. In particular was the Fire A button which is tucked away underneath a safety cover. Flipping that open and hitting the button underneath is SUPER satisfying. I really wish this stick had worked out, because I do like it.
But I have to give it a one star review because the stick very quickly ran into serious functionality issues. Like, my very first flight out in IL-2. The throttle worked fine and in two days of testing never had an issue. In that same time, the stick maybe worked normally through one dogfight and otherwise had major issues. The stick axis worked, though would some times get 'stuck' in a certain position (eg. nose down) and had to be reset either by pushing the axis all the way to the gimbal limit and let it move back to center. Or, in as many cases, it needed to be unplugged and replugged into the throttle base. The toggle switches on the stick's base always worked, but about ten minutes into use the buttons on the stick started to die. Either they would stick 'on,' for example the trigger would stick on and I would shoot through my ammunition, or more commonly (about 80% of the time) they would just stop working all together. I was prepared to fix this on my own, I figured it may have been a software or drive issue. But after doing some digging, no, this is a common hardware issue in the stick itself. It seems the only solution is to take the stick apart, remove any damaged wires (hopefully there *are* damaged wires, not always the case it seems) and then resolder the whole thing. Quite frankly too much work to put into a product that I purchased brand new. And this seems to be a very common problem with the stick, one that Logitek has seemingly decided not to fix. After doing a little more reading online (wish I had done that in the first place tbh) it seems like the whole X50-series has similar QA and build quality issues, either the sticks come broken or they wear out so quickly as to require a quick upgrade to something better.
So overall, despite being a well *designed* and satisfying product I would have to caution you to be very wary in actually purchasing this stick. Its probably not something worth buying new, rather something you may treat as a 'project' stick which you might repair/modify one day into an actually good stick. Or, as someone put in it in one of the troubleshooting threads I read, with the x52 it seems the first thing you'll get is the stick, the second thing you get are tears, the third thing you get is a new stick.
