Twelve-year-old Locklynn is like all of the other kids her age. She loves to draw, ice-skate, and play video games with her friends. As the middle child in a family with five girls, she has accepted that no one is more or less special than anyone else. So, imagine her surprise when an impromptu game of tag transports her to an unfamiliar wintery wonderland and introduces her to a dragon-legacy she knows nothing about.

While Locklynn and her friends, Bane and Makana, are still adjusting to their new wings, a huge, scary dragon seems to want them dead. Why else would he be hunting them as mercilessly as he is? When Locklynn gets caught and caged, her hope of ever going home quickly fades. During that time, a tiny dragon that Locklynn bonds with disappears, and she promises her captor that she will find the little one, but can she rescue them in time?

Locklynn must decide if family is more important than fear, and maybe she and her friends will find their way home.

Natalie Lougher was born in Peterborough, ON (1979). She discovered her skill for writing at the tender age of 10, and has honed her skills from that day onward. While she personally enjoys a good, romantic Sci-fi or supernatural read, her own writings are the 'down-to-earth, it-can-happen-in-real-life, with warm and fuzzy endings' type. She loves the sound of rain on a cabin roof, the waves lapping at a shoreline, Hazelnut-Vanilla coffee, and calls The Kawartha's home where she lives with her husband and young daughter.
