Now that the series that dusted off late-19th-century American prairie life for 1970s viewers has itself been dusted off, keep your kerchief handy. The double feature of "Christmas at Plum Creek" and "The Creeper of Walnut Grove" succeeds, as executive producer Michael Landon and the warm, fuzzy behind-the-scenes folks so obviously intended, at stirring the sap within. "Plum Creek" carries the nostalgic back to the early seasons, when Laura was still a genuine half-pint, braids bobbing on either side of her head. Christmas is coming, and clan Ingalls is intent on surprising one another, their meager means notwithstanding. Secrets and bargain-driving abound, but in the main story line Ma wants a stove and Laura sells her most prized possession, pony Bunny, to nasty Nellie Olsen to buy it for her. When the magic morning arrives, her sacrifice is made bittersweet by Pa's gift of a saddle. "The Creeper" fast-forwards a few years and includes some familiar townspeople, bespectacled teacher Miss Beetle and Dr. Baker among them. Timothy, the town's top student and brightest prospect for a college scholarship to study medicine, turns amateur thief when his pa is laid up and no longer able to tend to the farm. He makes off with a pie, some jam and bread from the mercantile, and a hen in hopes of helping along his father's recovery, but junior sleuths Laura and Andy Garvey are hot on his trail. When the jig is up and Timothy confesses to Pa, the town's good folks come together to pitch in for the foundering family. That way, Timothy can accept the scholarship he's made Walnut Grove proud by winning. I’m 5 discs in and no issues. The quality is great. Love the packaging! Makes them easy to access and keeps them protected. The cardboard box is fun as well, but I have put that away so it doesn’t get ruined. I have the book collection already- for my daughter and now we are watching the series together.

    are a joy to take part of. This DVD series is good for children (7 years + I think) and adults alike.
    I highly recommend this for the positive messages and for it's hopeful outlook on life. The quality of
    the DVD's are very good. And with some adjustment to your player, you can get the perfect picture.

    Le coffret est arrivé en bon état. Il y avait seulement le bas de l’image sur la boîte qui se décollait légèrement, mais rien de bien grave. Tous les CD sont présents, bien rangés et en ordre. L’image est très belle et la qualité du son est bonne pour la majorité de la saison 1 (je n’ai pas encore testé les autres saisons, donc je ne peux pas me prononcer pour le moment). Il y a eu un ou deux épisodes où le son semblait un peu “métallique”, mais ce n’était pas trop dérangeant.

    Par contre, on a remarqué de petits bugs assez fréquents, comme des gels d’image ou des saccades de 1 à 2 secondes. Il y a même eu un ou deux épisodes où ça durait un peu plus longtemps. Pour l’instant, on a terminé la saison 1, et ce genre de bug est apparu dans presque un épisode sur trois ( mais seulement une ou deux fois dans l’épisode pas plus) Pourtant, les CD semblent en bon état visuel, sans égratignures apparentes, donc on ne sait pas trop pourquoi ça fait ça.

    On espère que les prochaines saisons n’auront pas le même problème. Je mettrai à jour mon commentaire plus tard, une fois qu’on sera rendu plus loin dans la série.
