    When I first saw the Little Live Pets My Really Real Talking Bird – Indie, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it quickly became a favorite in our house. The toy comes in a cute birdcage, which adds to the charm right out of the box. Indie the bird has a bright, colorful design that’s cheerful and eye-catching, and the materials feel sturdy enough to handle everyday play. It’s easy to set up, and within minutes, my daughter was completely fascinated by her new feathery friend.

    One of the standout features of this toy is its interactive talking ability. Indie can repeat words and short phrases in a silly, high-pitched bird voice, which always gets a laugh. It also makes over 20 different bird sounds and reactions, which keeps the experience fresh and fun. Sometimes it chirps happily when you pet it, or it whistles a tune—little surprises that make it feel more “alive” than your typical stuffed animal or plastic toy.

    The voice-recording function is surprisingly sensitive and works better than I expected. You just press a button, say something, and the bird repeats it back. It’s not perfect—sometimes the voice playback is a little distorted—but that actually adds to the goofy, toy-like charm. My kids love having it “talk” to their other toys or mimic things we say at the dinner table. It sparks a lot of giggles and imaginative play.

    In terms of design, the cage is both decorative and practical. It makes storing the toy easy and adds to the pet-like experience. Indie sits on a perch and can be taken out to “play” or put back when it’s time to clean up. We’ve taken it on a few short trips, and the cage makes it simple to carry without the bird getting damaged. Battery life has been decent so far—we’ve been using it regularly for over a week and haven’t had to change them yet.

    Overall, the Little Live Pets Indie Talking Bird is a fantastic toy for younger kids, especially those who love animals or interactive play. It’s engaging, encourages creativity, and offers a fun, low-maintenance alternative to a real pet. While older kids might tire of it quicker, for the 4–8 age group, this is a hit. I would definitely recommend it as a gift—it’s cute, fun, and full of personality.

    My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves playing with this pretend parrot. The parrot can repeat what you say with her voice filter OR it can repeat what you say by tweeting the sound of your words. There are two small button on the front of the bird that allows you to interact with it. Press once and it will make a random tweeting sound/music. Press and hold will allow you to record your voice for the bird to repeat back to you. The bird requires batteries, which is included. The cage is a fun accessory. My daughter always plays with the bird out the cage. There is a working door in front of the cage with a plastic working latch. Unlatch the lock and you can wing open the cage door to access the bird. Also, behind the neck, you can pet the bird and it will also make another noise. Lastly, when it sings or talks back to you, it's tiny beaks does move open and close!! :)
