Connect to my Lenevo P16s. Works like a charm. Single wire to connect to use all available ports. Would recommended.

Confirmed that this was a Lenovo product consistent with Lenovo tech specs on Lenovo's web site. Received 2 days earlier than 鶹 schedule!!

Package had all materials, original wrapping, etc. Was able to install and have operational within a hour or so of delivery.

PS: Went to 鶹 site after talking with a (very helpful) person at Lenovo support that did confirm that they were "out of stock"....not sure when in might be restocked....they don't allow you to register in a queue for when they do come in, AND confirmed that the particular product may be dropped from the Lenovo supply list". It was on her suggestion that I check with 鶹 (actually, she logged in while on the phone with me, and confirmed that (using Lenevo's product number) that 鶹 had some available).

This docking station has been a nightmare for me. I bought 9 of these and when I hook up 2 monitors the second monitor blinks on and off. I contacted Lenovo Support because I saw someone mentioned the same issue here in the reviews for a firmware. They said they are working on it. After a week of wait it got released but provided no resolution. Now they think there is an issue with the laptop motherboard which I can guarantee its not. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. If it does not get resolved I am returning all of them.

So I want to like the dock, but mine for some reason doesn’t take firmware updates, which is a big problem when there are known issues with flickering monitors that are fixed by firmware updates.

The problem is (at least for mine) that Lenovo’s internal system shows my device (based on serial number) was sold to a company in China who is reselling it in North America. Because there is a mismatch between where I bought it (Canada) and where they think it should be (China) (based on them tracking serial numbers), they aren’t offering any warranty or other tech support. In the process of returning this item and buying a new version directly from Lenovo Canada. That way, if there is trouble applying firmware updates, I'll have warranty and service support available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dock Option for Legion 7
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2022

I’m using this dock with a Legion 7i Gen6 (11800H w/ 3070). Be aware, I bought this dock knowing full well it is NOT officially supported by Lenovo. I had read on several forums that it would work if you modified the power cable by removing a small piece of plastic that prevents the cable from fully seating inside the laptop power port. Bingo. Worked like a charm. Laptop is charging through the docking station.

One other problem people mentioned that was the gsync wouldn’t work over the TB dock. I’m happy to mention this fully works and is supported. Currently using on a 1440p monitor with GSYNC enabled. One note, remember to disable hybrid mode before heading over to the nvidia control panel to verify gsync. Gsync won’t work with the intel GPU enabled.

Only small issue I can see is the battery does begin to drain even while connected to the dock if you are planning to do long gaming sessions. My laptop was at 100% and after 2+ hours of gaming I was down to 80%. Just means the power supply can’t quite keep up with the demand so the battery helps supplement power.

Other than that, all seems to be working. I have 2x 1440p monitors connected, multiple peripherals, a USB3 hub, and etc. Everything seems to be working. Didn’t have to install any drivers either, plug and play!

Will update this review if I come across any issues. Good luck!

1.0 out of 5 stars Blurred display, losing video signal, USB issues - Current Firmware
Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025

My laptop is a 2024 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i with a 4080. Monitor is a Dell 1440p 32" 144hz display. This dock was connected to the laptop via an Intel certified Cable Matters TB4 cable (though the TB4 port). All of the Lenovo dock drivers were installed.

The Lenovo dock was intended to replace a TobenOne UDS035 dock which wasn't passing power through the TB4 port. Unless noted, the TobenOne dock didn't display any of the other symptoms noted below.

    - The external monitor (plugged into this dock via HDMI) was getting intermittent patchy blurred areas and strange artifacts. Particularly when gaming.
    - When changing between the laptop camera and the external Logitech USB camera, the display would momentarily flash off?
    - My Logitch wireless gaming mouse plugged into a new powered 7 port Anker USB hub hung off the dock (via USB 3.0) started stuttering. I also tried connecting the hub through USB C and saw the same results.
    - Power connector on the included Lenovo combo power/TB4 cord cord wouldn't seat. It almost looks like the connector has heat shrink going too far up the male connector, physically blocking it from seating. According to other reviews and a couple forums, some brave users are having luck trimming this plastic off. I didn't try.
    - The TB4 connector on the above Lenovo combo cable barely seated in the laptop as it's physically a very large/long rectangle and it impacted with the triangular corner of the side 7 Pro fan ducting. I believe this problem is only applicable to the 7 Pro (4080/4090) models of the laptop.
    - The TB4 portion of the connector was so large it was pulling down on the TB4 port. This alone ruled it out for me.
    - The "official" Lenovo dock tool software application said no firmware update was required. Other users reported v3 of the latest firmware resolving similar issues to what I was seeing.
    - The standalone Lenovo firmware update tool was repeatedly failing, throwing a vague error. Searches on the error suggest it's a common problem with no known solution that Lenovo has aware of at least since early 2024. Some people claim to be able to still update via Linux. I tried running an Ubuntu Live image but couldn't find the Linux version of the firmware update.
    - No power was being passed through the TB4 cable from the dock to the laptop. This was also the case with the TobenOne UDS035 dock (and why I wanted to replace it).
    - The 300 watt power brick for the Lenovo dock is huge. Maybe 50% bigger than the OEM 330 watt laptop brick.

Bottom line is this: Either there are compatability issues with my laptop, the firmware on the dock is out of date, I recieved a defective dock, or this dock is just junk. Whatever the case, I'd avoid this dock if you're running a Legion series laptop or wanting to power your laptop via TB4.

If you're looking for an alternative, check out the TobenOne UDS035 dock listed above. It lacks some of the rear 3.2 ports, but is getting the same FPS gaming through it that I see directly connected via HDMI and/or just using the laptop's display.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful but needs more ports.
Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2024

If you have a Lenovo workstation, especially one with a standalone GPU, then this is the dock you probably need. A few points:

    1) Plenty of power (the PSU shows 230w, I don’t know if that’s accurate, I didn’t test it, but the computer is running fine on it.
    2) Thunderbolt 4 is good for a couple of big monitors.
    3) it could use another USB port or two. It’s annoying to have to buy a usb hub for my docking station. Lenovo obviously knows it’s going to be used in a desktop environment, so they should give it more ports.
    4) it needs a dedicated back-panel audio jack instead of just the front panel headphone jack. The headphone jack doesn’t properly drive the speakers, I can connect them but they play really quiet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for ThinkPad P1 Gen 5
Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2024
    Verified Purchase
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5 work laptop that I have tethered to my home office using this same model dock, but I wanted to create an outdoor working area, since my home office is in a windowless basement. I'm too lazy to disconnect everything move it every time I want to work outside in the fresh air, so I purchased a rolling desk and another dock (this one), so when I plug in the laptop, it doesn't know the difference from one location to the next. As the P1 Gen 5 has a high power requirement, and I knew this one already worked, I went the same route. The only negative is the cost, but this one is over $100 cheaper than the identical model direct from Lenovo. Very pleased.

The product itself is excellent and functions as intended. Unfortunately, it was not suitable for my specific needs, leading me to return it and opt for an alternative solution. That said, if you're in the market for a docking station, I would highly recommend this one due to its quality and performance.
