I have been repairing my boat top a few times over the years and wish I had this from the beginning, as it was very hard to get a thick line through the canvas and plastic where I needed to repair seams and I often broke regular needles. This makes it so much easier. The handle has a nice wide end that allows me to use good force and not hurt my hand. As well, it unscrews to store the needles and wrench. The included line is strong, but quite thick and I found it hard to thread the needle. I ended up switching the included line for spiderwire fishing line that I find hold up well for repairing my top that gets exposed to the elements. There is no reason why this will not work just as well when repairing leather.
