Looking to replace my stainless steel cordless, I read the 1 and 2 star critiques... then went ahead anyway... It does remain cool to touch compared to single wall (which can get extremely hot and burn you!) the lid needs to close on it's own... that is, push it toward closing, but let the inner spring do the work, and it will 'snap' shut by itself... the wide lid means easy access for cleaning... I find it works great... I wanted all stainless steel, no plastic parts inside, and it makes a regular boiling noise, which I appreciate the feedback, and it doesn't sound abnormal in any way... I don't mind listening to it at all. It also has a tiny light in the power switch, which also provides important feedback when it's working.. this is everything I am looking for; clean, simple, minimalist design, decent sized (looks like a 1.7L but because of the double wall (which is a definite plus) it's 1.5L. Also, I bought a 'return' at discount and it looks and works perfectly... I'm thoroughly happy (I did give "price" category a four, cause I'm 'poor' !) although the $40.99 is definitely a competitive price.... '; D

After having the last kettle explode on me, I was very weary about getting another glass kettle so I went with an all metal one. It's surprisingly difficult to find a cheap, all metal, rapid boiling, double walled kettle with no plastic parts. After searching for hours (and hours and hours) I eventually found this kettle. Believe it or not, this is the only kettle that satisfied all my requirements - I was shocked to find it so cheap!

It's a fantastic kettle - the lack of plastic parts was very important to me and the double walled metal means the kettle water stays hot (saving you money if you drink endless cups of tea or coffee like me haha). As other reviewers have mentioned, the only downside with this kettle is it leaks everywhere if you try and pour the water too quickly. A problem that is easily solved by just not pouring too quickly. As long as you pour slowly, everything works perfectly.

Best kettle I've ever bought - highly recommended. It's a steal at this price. This is the kettle you are searching for.

Kettle boiled 1.5l water in 6 minutes. Stayed cool to the touch (double walled), easy to clean, and the inside was all stainless steel. No
water guage but who cares, open it up and look inside. Unlike other reviews I found nothing wrong with the lid. If your going to pour hot liquid at a 70 degree angle like your emptying a garbage then yes, the water is going to pour out irregularly all over the place. The instructions actually say to open the lid to the first position when pouring (naturally some reviewers forgot to read that part). I found with a decent pour rate there was nothing wrong with the kettle and had no problems even with the lid closed. The kettle was a steal for the price. Awesome buy.

I was really disappointed with this kettle. The first one I ordered is reflected in the first two pictures that came with cosmetic damage like scratches on the stainless steel. I thought this was maybe a fluke and ordered a replacement but somehow the second one came more damaged than the first (see the dent on the rim in picture 3). I personally don’t like having cosmetic damage on brand new items since I like to take care of my things, but I thought I’d try and look past it and give it a try. This was an error in judgement on my part. I filled the kettle to the max fill line and was very precise about this. I did not overfill it. I noticed that the kettle was particularly loud but maybe this isn’t an issue for everyone, I just like going downstairs to the kitchen at night for a cup of tea without waking the whole house up by boiling water. When it’s quiet, it’s very loud. The water got up to a boil and please note that the kettle does not have “cool touch” as advertised. I put my hands lightly on the kettle and you certainly have won’t burn yourself thankfully, but it does get quite warm. Luckily my hands didn’t linger for long, as a few moments later the water came to a rapid boil and bubbled scalding water out from the top of the kettle all over my counter and floor.

Tl;dr: it boils over very easily. the cool touch feature isn’t a thing. if you like things to come shiny and new out of the box this isn’t what you’re going to get. Please be very careful when handling this kettle.

This kettle is double walled which means if you touch the outside of the body when it has boiled it'll just feel warm. On every other kettle you would get a serious burn. This entire kettle is 304 food-grade stainless steel. Even the underside of the lid is covered in stainless steel. There is no plastic see-through window so the water you will be drinking will touch only stainless steel. There is no temperature control but no one should care. You want the water to boil (100 Celsius). If you want the water to reach only 98 Celsius, then get one of the needlessly fancy kettles which I am sure will malfunction. This is a simple, safe and powerful kettle which should last for life.
