    I wanted these mainly for use in the kitchen. Given the large size (blades and handle) that might be slight over-kill, but they work great and I like them. If you have small hands and/or a weak grip, it might be an issue, but they work fine for me and my wife. I guess they would not be ideal for tiny, delicate cutting, but that's not my requirement here. Have only had them a couple weeks, so no idea of how sharp the blades stay over the years, but so far they've cleanly and decisively sliced through anything I've asked them to! The screw and nut connecting the blades should let me re-tighten if anything loosens-up over time.

    These are big strong MAN sized shears. 10 inches long in total and the blade is at least 1- 1/2 inches longer than other scissors so you get that added sweep. Because of their size they are heavy to handle and not meant for dress making. However, as an older woman and arthritic, I was able to use them with little trouble. They were exactly what I needed and wanted.
