    These seem to be fairly sturdy stakes. The rod looks to be of a fairly decent diameter. I especially like the chiseled ends which make it much easier to pierce landscape fabric. I like the U shape as I’m also going to be using these to hold down a soaker hose.

    My only concern is the “galvanized’ claim. To me, galvanized means hot dipped, which is a thick coating of zinc that provides excellent rust resistance. These appear to be zinc plated, which, while it does provide some protection, is a much thinner coating of zinc. Given that these will be in the ground all of the time, it will be interesting to see how they stand up in the long term. I’ll update my review in the future if need be.

    I’ve used these staples to secure some chicken wire and burlap that I have around trees and shrubs in my yard. They are a nice thick gauge which easily slipped into the ground and are long enough to secure materials in the ground.

    They are sturdy enough to hold up to some hammering, but do bend when hammered into a root or rock.
