    It worked. I can finally get into my big jar of strawberry jam that resisted all other means of opening. I guess it's a bonus that they sent two of the tools, I didn't realize, thought I was buying one, and would have ordered something else had I realized there'd be two ... who would ever need two identical jar openers? People should know that the tool itself will appear scuffed up, as if it was kept with your tools out in your garage rather than in your kitchen. But it works well.

I’m not sure why the seller offers two jar openers, but you can give one away. There is only one grip pad included, however, but that’s not a necessity.

    I read one of the reviews about the odor coming from this product. I am usually sensitive to odors and hadn’t noticed anything, so I checked my opener. When I took it from the drawer, I still didn’t small anything. I put it close to my nose and sniffed and did smell the distinct odor rubber coming from the black strip. Out of an abundance of caution, I placed the jar opener outside in the sun for a day, to dissipate the odor.

    These smell super strong, like I just walked into a tire store. The smell is SO strong. I let these sit out for days and the smell hasn't gone down at all. I can't bring myself to put them in my kitchen and stink up my drawers. These are relegated to the garage and even then I don't think they will stay from the smell alone. Very disappointed with these from the smell that makes them unusable.

    This contraption helps most of the time, but not all the time. There are some lids I've tried it on where no matter how tight I made it, it just slid around the lid and didn't grip it to loosen it. So this won't work on every type of lid. So far in my experience, I'd say it works 85% of the time. Which is still helpful for those items! However I was pretty sad when it wouldn't open my jar of pickles. But don't worry, I was still able to open the jar! It just took a while. Haha. If you need something to help you open jars and bottles sometimes, this will help, but don't rely on it 100% of the time.
