    This LEGO racing car assembly kit arrived in a very large box. It was heavy. So much so that I thought it contained metal pieces and electronic gear. Judging from the online photos, I assumed this car had an electrical engine and that, once completed, you could "drive" this car with a remote control box.

    But no. No electronic or metal pieces. This car is to be constructed entirely from plastic pieces: 1.675 pieces total. The pieces are small but numerous, and should result in a large car. Many decals and four soft plastic tire (or possibly rubber?) are also included.

    Looking at all the pieces is intimidating. Fortunately, there's an instruction manual. It's thick and heavy; 366 pages. It's also lavishly illustrated. This manual takes you through the process of construction very slowly, minute step by minute step, with lavish, numbered illustrations along the way. Constructing this racing car is a slow process, requiring much focused concentration. But with this instruction manual on hand, it should not be an overly difficult task.

    I received this free item through the Vine program. This is another marvelous piece from the LEGO Technic series! The building process was quite challenging - it has almost 1,700 pieces - but the detailed instructions help you accomplish this fantastic piece of plastic engineering.

    I really like the design and color scheme of this model. All the moving parts work the way they’re supposed to, though I wish they had added a motorized option. Perhaps that could be the next challenge for those who want to take it further. But even without that, it looks great as a display piece!

    This Lego McLaren set is stunning, I'm very impressed!! This 1,675-piece set features a LEGO F1 car measuring over 5" in Height, 24” long and 9.5” wide with a 2 speed gearbox and DRS activator! This will be a great project for my son who is in mechanical engineering and loves to build models as a hobby. The tires are in a box and all the pieces are labeled in their package so this will be a very fulfilling project for him to work on. This LEGO McLaren is a great quality, well made and an excellent value for what you are getting. Definitely recommend for those who love projects, especially one as sophisticated as this one! Have fun!
