The lightweight Kryptonite Keeper Integrated Chain is made of hardened 3t manganese steel formed into 7mm four-sided links. Recommended for use in low crime areas.Kryptonite chain locks represent the maximum amount of security available.In the early 1970s, Michael Zane was a free-spirited, bearded kid with a VW van and a big idea for a new kind of lock. He traveled thousands of miles showing the unique U-shaped locking device and spreading his passion for bicycle security to bike dealers all around the country and forged lifetime relationships.     Was cheaper than any local bike shop, so that's nice. I immediately had to buy a better lock. The chain is smaller and flimsier than I expected. Will use it on my cheaper bike, or to secure my front wheel. There is a learning curve to locking it quickly of the barrel and the way the chain goes into the integrated log is annoying. Unfortunately it's just not quite suitable to lock up my $2500 ebike. During the day maybe, and in neighbourhoods that aren't sketchy.

    Ended up buying the kryptonite evolution chain lock for 120 bucks. Much more serious lock.

At 1.35kg on my kitchen scale it's not lightweight, but it folds compactly and fits in my under-saddle-bag. Long enough to go through the bike frame, through one wheel and around a pole or bike rack.
