This little plastic device works very well to give me relatively fine sesame in quick time, pretty similar to using a black pepper grinder. I was a bit concerned about how well this inexpensive plastic device work before I received it. As it is working so well, I may purchase another one for other small size seeds. Yes, I did have to adjust the 'adjustment screw' all the way down to get the fineness I want.
I was pleasantly surprised to love this! I actually haven't used it for sesame seeds yet, but for now I just keep whole roasted cumin and coriander seeds in it and pretty much freshly grind them onto everything. Some pieces do come out a bit chunky so I have a feeling if I used the sesame seeds that not all would come out ground. Anyways for the price, I don't have any real gripes. Worth it.
Bought this because I needed a sesame seed grinder. I instantly recognized this.. my mother has one of these... and she's had it for the past 31 years (perhaps longer, that's how long I remember seeing her with it). And it still works.
This thing is pure Japanese quality despite looking like the cheapest plastic sesame grinder on the market.
This grinder does not grind flax seed, Chia seed or sesame seed. It spits them out ungroung. It is not easy to operate. After 8 tries I threw the grinder in the garbage.
This thing is really adorable and really handy to add that little bit of sesame to your dish. Simple construction but very effective. It even comes with a plastic cap to slap on when not in use. The box was surprisingly nice as well, retaining most of its original language and design.
This is such a handy little item! I love to grind sesame seeds on many foods, and this makes it so easy. Just turn the little crank and lovely ground sesame seeds pour out. In case you are wondering why not just use the whole seeds? Flavor! When you grind the sesame seeds, it releases all of the flavor and aroma of the seeds. It’s easy to use and a great value for the money. If you love sprinkling sesame seeds on your foods, this little gem works great and is fun to use.
