Product description
The Knog oi redefines bike bells. No more of the plain looking and unpleasant sounding bells we've become complacent with; Knog brings you a bell with a beautiful tone, remarkable style and impeccable choice of materials that embodies a rider's personality. The shape originates from the handlebars and was diligently tested to get the optimum width, depth, curve and overall design. The strike of the bell is Firm and fast, allowing an excellent balance of volume and longevity to the sound, with a chord like layering of pitches. The cable management system keeps your handlebars nice and tidy, complementing the tasteful style of the oi. The small oi fits 22.2M bars while the large fits 31.8mm bars, so please make sure to double check the size of your bars and also the positioning you plan to use to ensure that the fit will be correct.
From the manufacturer

The Oi Small
The Knog Oi is available in two sizes, large and small. The large fits 31.8mm bike bars and the small fits 22.2mm bike bars.
The Oi Bell
Redefining the Bike Bell
With a standout design that tucks stealthily close to your bars, the Oi is a unique way to add some noise potential to your bike. Knog has removed everything that has contributed to the dusty image of bicycle bells and replaced it with an innovative bell that projects a bright, crisp, ear pleasing sound, all while hovering cleanly around your handlebars. The aluminum surface of the Oi is available in 4 different color variations.
- Stainless Steel, High Tensile Spring
- Aircraft Grade Aluminum Ringer
- Reinforced Nylon Mount
- M4 Hex Screw Tightener

Features
Innovative Style
The Oi bell's shape originates from its home - the handle bar. Knog’s design team explored hundreds of iterations in designing the style. Then tested and prototyped different widths, depths, materials, curvature, actuators, springs and more to get to the optimum design. Where bells usually protrude up or out, Oi doesn’t. It appears to hover around the handle bars. In one sense, it's discreet. But in another, it stands out as unrecognizable.
Cable Management
What about the handle-bar cables? No worries. Built into the shape of the mount is a cable management system. So not only does it allow the bell to look and sound uninterrupted, it also helps gather your cables. What about getting it on the bar. Again, not a thing. Just pop it over, give the hex screw a quick tighten up, and you're good to go. No sliding down the handlebars, no dismantling and re-assembling.
Clear, Cutting Sound
Knog tested numerous prototypes to get the perfect pitch, length of ring, and volume. With a spring-loaded actuator built into the mount, the strike of the bell is firm and fast, allowing a good balance of volume and longevity of sound. The bell actually has several pitch tones - one core and several supportive higher tones to ensure its unmistakable and safely heard. To compare it to a musical instrument, where some bells play a single note, Oi plays a chord.

Refusing to conform to anyone or anything
Knog is out there every day smashing the main roads, rolling softly through the back country and being attuned to global sub-cultures which is the source of Knog’s inspiration. It's what drives them to consistently deliver fresh and innovative products that enable riders, walkers and urban adventurers around the world to discover their own sense of freedom, have fun, and live in the moment.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 3, 2017Verified PurchaseLooks good, sounds good. Only issue is the company I bought it from (North American Outfitters) shipped it stating "aluminum bike bell". Stating the metal type draws the attention of border services. They opened it and classified it under aluminum household articles and applied tax, not otherwise collected so that's fine. They didn't charge duty but they nailed me with a $9.95 handling fee. Total payable at the post office was $15.96. Regret buying? No but wouldn't have if I knew it was going to cost $57 (incl shipping). That handling fee was unexpected and a result of the shipping label stating aluminum. If they only said "bike bell", there would have been taxes but no handling fee.
In summary; great bell, would not have bought if I knew CBSA was going to open it.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 1, 2020Verified PurchaseI am used to using an electronic horn on my bike but found people don't recognize the audible beep. They do however hear the ding ding of my little bell. It looks great on the bike and works as expected. I can see how some people have had issues with parts breaking. Just don't bang your stuff around. You don't need that much pressure to use it properly. There is an updated version of this bell and the build quality looks sturdy.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 22, 2017Verified PurchaseNicer design than cheaper models. Good sound, but this will not clear paths for you, it’s just a polite heads up. Compact, clean, discreet, I’ll put it on my high-end training bike to stay legal while not wrecking expensive sleekness with a garish gong. I do believe the other reviews that found they could damage the pillar-spring below the striker — you can’t whale on the bell to make it louder, you can only draw the striker back for a mild ‘ding’. If you need to reach to joggers wearing headphones using mixed-purpose tracks, this ain’t that.

- Reviewed in Canada on October 30, 2020Verified PurchaseHmmmm. Expected more from this. The bit you flick with you thumb is flimsy and turns so the corner of it hits the metal instead of the flat part sometimes. The pictures looks money but feels China in your hands once you see the spring and cheap plastic thumb flicker thingy. Problem is, it’s still probably the best thing out there if you don’t want to look like a rookie bike nerd. ... hoping they improve with the next iteration. They totally can do better than this. It’s obvious. Looks like they cut corners to make bank.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 1, 2020Verified PurchaseI like the look of this bell. It is very low profile so it doesn't "stick out" on my road bike.
Unfortunately, it's not very loud. I have a more traditional bell on my old-school MTB and that is loud. And the harder I push the lever the louder it is. With this one, the ringer is spring mounted and you pull it back and release. You can't vary the volume at all. It's all done by the spring. And, well, like I said, it's just not loud. I have to be nearly directly behind the person for them to hear me. And if they have headphones on, they won't hear me at all.
It also has some issues with its usage. To "ring the bell" you have to use your thumb to pull back a small spring-loaded plastic lever and release it to hit the bell. The problem is it twists very easily so that the primary striking surface gets turned away from the bell. So then you have to fiddle with it to straighten it. And if you're trying to alert someone to your presence, you don't really want to have to be fiddling with the bell.
I really wanted to like this bell as I really like how it looks. But I will be looking for an alternative.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 19, 2018Verified PurchaseIt does not stick out like some of the other bells I have owned. It is sleek and blends in well with the handlebar. The bell is loud and achieves what it's required to do. The only thing I cannot comment on yet is the longevity as it has only been a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant soft ring that seems to get people to move over.
Verified PurchaseIt's nice to have a bell that is so good looking. For certain it is a little fussy to install as it is a bit delicate. Just take your time and don't handle it roughly.
The little trigger seems like it could have a problem with longevity. So that could be a negative if it breaks. If you want it to ring loud enough for people to hear, you have to pull back farther which might mean it might eventually break. I've used on a number of rides so far and it's nice. I don't anticipate it breaking anytime soon.
As far as reviews saying it if not loud, they are accurate. As a positive, it is kinda nice to not be loud so you don't come across as obnoxious and annoying. If you slow down and pass walkers and joggers slower, then the ring is very effective. It does work. It seems that people respond nicely moving over with a pleasant ring. If you slow up a little, you might as well say hello as you pass.
You can not ring it hundreds of feet away and ride by pedestrians at 20 mph and expect this to work. They will not have enough time to respond if they even hear it. So if you ride like a jerk, you might be better if with something more obnoxious. Probably better to not be a jerk and realize the trail is not just there for you.
I ride on a lot of trails where there are people walking and running. A little ring seems to be working well. Everyone responds by moving over making sharing the trail work for both cyclists and pedestrians. I wish it were a little louder however bring softer has a benefit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Za popularnością nie zawsze jakość idzie w parze.
