The sound seemed a little muffled. The bass was overpowering. Internet search revealed that a firmware upgrade would adjust the bass and even cut the bass. I downloaded the upgrade and proceeded to upgrade the speakers and app. Tried unsuccessfully to upgradenthe firmware 10+ times. Without the new firmware, I could not listen to the speakers because the bass was too much. Contacted Klipsch customer service and nobody could help me or understand my problem. As a result I returned the speakers. I can't recommend these speakers.

Stopped working within months. Klipsch customer service did nothing. No sound out of any channel, firmware roll backs and troubleshooting did nothing. Klipsch customer support did nothing and said anyone that bought in Canada is out of luck. Stay far away from this brand. If you've had luck with them great, if you don't, their customer support won't care.

Introduction:
Klipsch is renowned by many for their speakers (specifically passive speakers) first and foremost. The Fives is more than just a speaker, it is an Amplifier (most likely Class D), Phono Preamp, and DAC all bundled together with speakers components ( Horn, Woofer, and crossover). Klipsch’s 78 years of experience has proven them to be masters of making passive speaker components. When comes to making amps, preamps, DACs they are still very new to it. Klipsch released one its first steaming DAC & Amps, the Powergate in 2016. From first-hand experience, it was plagued with overheating, finicky software and other reliability issues. Originally sold for $499, was being sold for as little as $99 on �鶹�� by the time it was discontinued. The point I am trying to make with the Powergate in regards to The Fives is that Klipsch didn’t learn from their errors with the Powergate. The Fives built-in DAC-Amp ended up inheriting many of its reliability problems and most likely the same board design from the Powergate based numerous reviews on the Five’s having many hardware and software failures. Klipsch was very ambitious with the The Fives and they simply took on more than they could chew when it comes to issues of Five which have been throughly discussed in other reviews.

Sound:
If you’re devout audiophile, then this not speaker for you and it wasn’t intended for you. I used these with the original firmware straight out the of box, it has V shaped sound curve. elevated bass, high frequencies, but dips low in the midrange with boosted treble through out. This V shaped sound signature is often found mainstream audio products ( Headphones, Speakers, etc) whether it be Sony, Beats, Bose, etc. which plays in to why many people prefer the sound quality of these brands. The Fives were tuned this way to appeal to as many people as possible, not audiophiles. Despite all of this, I can hear the warm Klipsch house sound bleeding through them. Like the Klipsch’s Reference Premiere series (RP 400, 500, 600m) the Fives are good at bringing vocals to life. Unlike the Reference Premiere series the Fives lack the wide soundstage, fast clean bass and detail.

Value:
These were selling for $400 when I purchased the Five just before Black Friday. At that price, you get a lot for your money despite its issues. The exterior build quality matches its original $999 price tag, and it is overall esthetically pleasing with its mid-century design and polished metal switches. If willing to put up with its short comings, and it’s great substitute for a soundbar for entertainment center setup at the discounted price.

Para obtener buenos resultados de sonido hay que reproducir nuestra música en formatos sin perdida como Flac, y así aprovechar de una mejor forma el potencial de los altavoces. Voy a adquirir un Subwoofer para haber si mejoran los graves, siento que que se sobrecargan los graves en los altavoces si el sub.
El envío fue rápido y llego en excelentes condiciones. Si lo recomiendo. Tengo una barra de sonido samsung y comprándola con The Fives, suenan mucho mejor los Klipsch.
Ya compre el Subwoofer R-100SW de klipsch, y conectado a los The Fives suenan mucho mejor los graves, sin duda alguna mejora la experiencia al escuchar tu música favorita. También agregue un Dac y un amplificador de la marca Ifi, y en combinacion geberal mejora más el sonido los graves son más profundos y firmes, los voces más claras.
