How to Make Volcano Mould?
- Make sure you have put on your safety goggles. Make sure the volcano model is dry and make sure your working surface is flat. To prevent the table from being splashed, you can pad a piece underneath. Put same amount of sodium bicarbonate powder and citric acid powder inside the volcano crater and stir to mix(Fog.1). You can start by using 5g (one spoon) of each chemical. Using more will make the “lava” effect look more dramatic. “The powder contains food coloring, please do not touch the power with your hands”
- Pour some water into the plastic cup and use the syringe to draw water into itself until it is full (Fig 2)
- Make sure you have put on your safety goggles. Use the syringe to drop all the water to the volcano model (Fig 3), do not place your hand directly above the model.
- Bubbles start to overflow out of the volcano crater just like a volcanic eruption (Fig 4)
