Not quite as horrific as my initial review. Not the worst system I've used.

- Reviewed in Canada on April 23, 2025Verified PurchaseA relatively cheap ($400 or so) but well made piece of gear for a small workshop. Delivery was efficient and on time.

I wonder if it's possible I ha e recieved a reboxed used and or resprayed unit. Even the motor exhibits noise and complaints
i saw during the assembly, that there was obvious signs of lack attention or just outright bad QC. As shown in the pictures there is blistering paint, ill fitting parts and an air leak where the air path joins the bag area.
A welded joint. This contributes to the condition it is employed to prevent.
A dusty unhealthy workshop.
I used a kneedable putty with hardener to fashion am unsightly patch for the leak.
There is Video posted. Tell me in a comment if you hear a bad bearing in the 24 hour old motor that has run for 15 min. It got quite warm to the within 10 min of starting. Not hot, but warmer than thought it would have been for such little actual use. Especially with out reducers or hose and just assymbled.
If it wasn't such a huge ordeal to take apart it would have been sent back already. Now I'm probably stuck with a badly made dust collector. The box was ripped, clearly the straps marked do not carry by this ...were used to carry it ...the corners were ripped clear through from the straps how if not used as a handle.
it comes in so many parts, if it can come off it is off. And took a couple hours from opening the box fully to built and turned on for testing am completely disappointed in the KingCanada dust collector.
Even the protective plastic on the lable was attempted to be peeled off. I think it was used or a return by a smarter consumer than I.
Verdic.
It does suck but not in the way you want your dust collector to suck.
Try ShopFox or Wen... This one could be so much better but falls short of the build quality for $400. Maybe $150-199 if they stepped up their game 25%
I so wanted to love it too.
UPDATE;
I believe I was a wee bit harsh on my initial review of this dust collector. Although it is still not the quality I was hoping for at that price point, it does do what it's intended to do. Collect the dust and wood chips that come from woodworking. The filter bag could be a little finer, the motor could be a little stronger and depressed metal could be a little thicker, but I guess all of these things would add to the bottom line the price would be higher.
I can't say how it compares with the wen, or shop Fox versions of a similar item, but it seems to do what I needed to do for now.
Update number 2:
Unit has been returned. Finally had completed the 7 station woodshop. Not as big as it sounds. Four units on 4 inch, big gulp , 13 inch planer, 10" tablesaw, cnc router table. Three on a 2.5"it bandsaw, 24 inch edge sander, 36 inch belt/disc sander Seperated by a blast gate switch system. Each device with its own blast gate.
The dust collector wouldn't suck saw dust if you held it in front of the big gulp pipe opening. I suspect the motor was at fault. As I initially thought.
I can't afford the downtime due to dust and shavings and non working as it should equipment.
Shop fox equivalent (but $100 more) is going to try to fill the role.
1.0 out of 5 starsComing in at what we'll call $400, it's not the least expensive 1 HP dust collector, but I'm going to hazard a guess it my be the cheapest. Not quite as horrific as my initial review. Not the worst system I've used.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 1, 2024Verified PurchaseThe directions included are lame at best, I have assembled everything from car seats to a cnc machine with alot less trouble. You should have a impact driver in required tools and markings on the metal showing you where to align the bolts! It took me 4 days and several attempts to get it correct. That said the unit is robust and I have no doubt it will serve me many years. I have also found that it's extremely difficult to get a mounting for the fan...it says 4 inch but none of the 6 four inch mounts I have purchased fit. It is close but pvc to metal has to be relatively exact.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 20, 2022Verified PurchaseThis system works pretty well on my 12" radial arm saw. It successfully captures the sawdust from the saw's 2 4-inch ports. The 2-bag system also keeps the exhaust air and the sqwdust in 2 separate bags, which undoubtedly helps achieve the lack of airborne sawdust in the exhausted air. One glitch: The 4 mounting holes on the motor/fan mounting tube on my specific system were "mis-clocked" relative to the matching holes in the machine's base. i.e. if I used the mounting holes as shipped to me, the output air from the motor/fan assembly would not be able to get to the bags! I solved that by rotating the motor/fan assembly so that its air output flange aligned proeprly with the bags' input flange, and simply drilled 4 new holes in the base in that corrected position. No big deal. But I am wondering how such an obvious error could have been made at the factory when drilling the holes in the base. :)

- Reviewed in Canada on March 23, 2025Verified PurchaseThe box arrived damaged and broken. They didn’t include enough washers to fully assemble the dust collector. I used some extras I had. It ran twice before the motor capacitor failed. I have a replacement coming for an additional $30. I haven’t actually been able to use it yet to collect dust. Some of the other reviews mention these being cheaply made. I have to agree.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 14, 2023Verified PurchaseThere was another reviewer who mention issues with the clocking on the motor.
Mine unfortunately had the same fate, there was no combination of rotating the base of the tower or the motor in the tower that would align the chute to the bag. Mine is currently free standing and working until I drill holes or tear into the fan shroud to see what's going on from the factory.
Additionally, there is a ridiculous amount of air that escapes between the fan shroud and motor... like an absolutely embarrassing amount of air.
Buy something better, look at busybee for sales and steer clear of this mess.
