This helical style cutter head design helps reduce noise as its 15 Amp. motor is turning at an impressive 10,000 FPM.

    Easy assembly, Very good cuts. Considering is helical (small shavings for dust collector, easy to replace cutters) best price in category.

    Suggestion: Go thru the manual before using, there are some very important steps to follow to ensure it has the longest possible life. Manual is straight to point, easy to read.

    Best thing about this machine is the easy to change out cutting inserts, no more fooling around with knife adjustments. The next best thing is the waste wood comes off in chips and does not clog up your dust collection unit.
    Very robust unit and easy to make thickness cut adjustments.

    I figured that getting this 13” planer with helical cutters would make my life easier. Heck NO!! The cutters don’t last for one thing. And once you turn them once that is it. To replace them, you have to put your house up for sale to pay for new cutters, maybe not so much, but they are expensive. And they don’t last. I put them in, all new ones and it’s been a week and I’m turning them already. So beware of this helical cutter.
    The other thing I don’t particularly like, is the locking mechanism. You have to lock it before using and unlock to raise or lower the deck. By the way, I tried to use it without locking, and it moves slightly. I suggest you lock it.

    A great small planer definitely recommend!

    My only complaints are nothing to deter anyone from purchasing one.
    I wish the power cord and dust port exited on the same side. And the outfeed table on the back could fold out of the way with dust extraction attached.
    Once I have it set up permanently these won’t matter. But for someone who doesn’t set it up permanently on a surface they are a bit bothersome.
