The adapter plug works with your 120V AC power outlet installed in your ceiling for smoke detectors. The Quick Connect installation can be completed in four steps: simply insert the 2-pin male connector from the adapter into the hardwire from your ceiling, use the female side of adapter to plug into the back of your smoke, carbon monoxide, or combination smoke & carbon monoxide alarm, test your alarm to ensure connection, and connect the alarm to the bracket on your ceiling.
