After searching for hours and hours I found these speakers that have a small cutout - less than 4 3/4" - that fits my old speakers. It seems there is no standard for 6 1/2" speakers as to the size of the cutout - most are 5". It was impossible for me to enlarge the hole for the speakers, so it was great to find these that actually fit a smaller hole. The cutout size for these is 4.7", a little less than 4 3/4" that I needed.
